About Ana

Ana Avancini is a mental health practitioner driven by a deep passion for creating space where others can heal. Ana holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University, and it was this same commitment to understanding people and systems that led her to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, also from York University, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Her personal, academic, and professional experiences have shaped her dedication to meeting clients where they are in their healing journey — offering support and helping them overcome obstacles, should that be their wish. For over 11 years, Ana has also been a committed advocate for individuals in the neurodivergent community, working to ensure they have access to better educational support, recognizing the significant role these challenges can play in one's mental health. Ana approaches her practice through an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens, placing safety at the heart of every client's healing journey. She draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities, including narrative therapy and tools from dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). In collaboration with her clients, Ana addresses a range of challenges, including trauma, racial and systemic abuse, anxiety, and depression.
