My path to manual osteopathy began after a 12-year career in nursing, where I worked closely with orthopedic patients. During this time, I developed a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and patient care, while gaining an appreciation for the body's ability to adapt and recover.
I was drawn to osteopathy as a way to combine my clinical background with a hands-on approach that considers the body as a whole. Wanting a comprehensive and principles-based education, I completed a four-year, 4,200-hour program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, where I developed a strong understanding of classical osteopathic principles and their application in practice. I also maintain an active membership with Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN), which holds its members to the highest standards of practice in education and professionalism.
In my practice, I take an individualized approach to care, recognizing that each person's presentation and contributing factors are unique. I use hands-on osteopathic techniques to support mobility, address areas of dysfunction, and help restore balance and ease of movement.
I strive to create a calm and supportive environment where patients feel heard and comfortable throughout their care. My goal is to work collaboratively with each patient to better understand their concerns and support their body's ability to function, adapt, and recover.
When I'm not working or caring for my family I enjoy taking yoga classes, taking walks in nature, and planning the next concert to attend.
