About Aliaksandra

Have you ever felt disconnected, even while surrounded by people in a familiar place? Have you ever held back from sharing your emotions because you thought, “They wouldn’t understand?” I understand how isolating it can feel to hide parts of yourself or believe your inner world wouldn’t make sense to others. I strive to provide a space where you can openly explore your thoughts, reconnect with yourself, and feel more grounded in a world that can often feel overwhelming and disconnected. As an immigrant from a small village in Belarus—where horse-drawn buggy was still common when I was growing up—adjusting to life in North America brought its own challenges. For many years I experienced anxiety about the unfamiliar. Over time, I realized that what I once interpreted as anxiety was often my excitement for the unknown wearing a different mask. The power of the mind never ceases to amaze me. Since childhood, I’ve been deeply curious about people, emotions and the stories we carry. I believe curiosity holds wisdom, laughter can be healing and creativity can help us express things that words sometimes cannot. My approach to counselling is humanistic and client-centred, integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions and experiences without judgment. I have recently completed my program at Rhodes Wellness College and plan to continue expanding my training in areas such as couples therapy, existential therapy and art therapy. Outside of counselling, I enjoy spending time in nature, creating art, painting and making rugs in my studio. I value both meaningful community and quiet moments of solitude and I deeply respect that everyone has their own path toward balance and healing.
