About Alex

Alex has been a physiotherapist since graduating from Western University in 2015. He has also been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 2014. ####Why should clients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area? Alex will work with you towards your goals by developing customized treatment plans. He is passionate about continual growth and education and has an extensive background in functional movement assessments and customized exercise plans. He has been in the health and fitness industry since 2009, which gives him a comprehensive understanding of exercise as it applies to injury rehabilitation. After working with Alex, you can expect to leave with less pain, improved mobility, greater strength, and more confidence in your physical abilities. ####What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in? Alex has had extensive training in specialized techniques to help improve pain, muscle tension, and flexibility. These include: • Acupuncture/electroacupuncture and dry needling/intramuscular stimulation (IMS) • Deep tissue massage • Hands on manual therapy/manipulation ####Which cases do you enjoy treating and why? Alex enjoys working with weekend warriors who work a normal job but love to beat up their bodies at the gym or through sports. He specializes in treating weightlifting injuries and has also taken numerous courses on shoulder, hip, and knee rehabilitation from the top strength and conditioning coaches in the industry. Furthermore, he enjoys treating acute neck and back injuries as he's experienced first hand how debilitating these injuries can be, but also how effective early intervention can be to a successful recovery. ####What do you enjoy doing outside of work? During his spare time, you'll likely find Alex working out at the gym or out dancing salsa and bachata. ####Degrees/Certifications • Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) - Queen's University 2013 • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) - 2014 • Master of Physical Therapy - Western University 2015 • McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture - 2016 • Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling - 2017 • Functional Movement Screen (FMS) - 2019
