Alena graduated from the 3000-hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. She has been in practice since 2015.
Her passion for health and healing has brought her to this career. She believes no two people are the same, and understands the approach in treating each patient with a specific and beneficial treatment plan.
She has experience in a number of outreach placements such as VGH Burn and Trauma unit, and BC Women’s pre and post natal clinic. As well as some in-reach programs working with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, and Parkinson’s disease. Her most common and familiar conditions include nerve impingement syndromes (ie: sciatic nerve and thoracic outlet syndrome), muscular imbalances, frozen shoulder, iliotibial band tightness, and headaches.
With vast training in manual therapy, Alena likes to incorporate a variety of treatment techniques such as Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Joint Mobilization and Lymphatic Drainage techniques. She often incorporates stretching and strengthening into her treatment as well as a remedial home care plan.
Alena has a strong belief in being active and understands first hand how unappealing injuries may get. Her hobbies include snowboarding, weight training and fitness classes which she will be teaching in her near future. It is always her goal to bring patients back to their optimal function as fast and effectively as possible.
