About Abbie

After graduating from York University with a BFA in performance dance, I had quite a lot of time on my hands due to 2020’s unforeseen circumstances. I was working in Kensington Market as a bartender when someone let me know they were pursing a career in massage therapy. Having not considered this as a career path, I went home that day and looked into it immediately. Flash forward to August 2021 I began my RMT journey at Sutherland-chan and fell in love with the profession. Having recently graduated in 2023, I am so grateful for all the opportunities I was given during my time there. I was able to treat in many different clinic environments including a stroke rehabilitation program, Toronto General Hospital and Fife house - working alongside patients living with HIV. I was also given the opportunity to treat in Sutherland-Chans pregnancy clinic intensive, which allowed me to treat conditions such as piriformis syndrome and plantar fasciitis as well as, provided insight on overall pre and post natal wellness. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy weight training at the gym, cooking new recipes and spending time with my cat, Lawrence! I am also working towards completing my 200hr yoga teacher training, which I am hoping to complete by the end of this year.
