Hi! I’m Abbi and I am so pleased to meet you. You have already taken a great step in your journey. I have worked with many individuals over the years and have taken many trainings but have come to learn that the most crucial aspect is the connection wi th your therapist. I want to ensure you are heard and feel safe to discuss the most vulnerable parts of yourself. As a registered social worker I have come to specialize in the area of substance use with youth and young adults. I have worked with many who have struggled with symptoms of mental health, family conflict, homelessness, trauma while simultaneously using a substance for various reasons. I have worked in school settings, office based and community. I have helped many prepare for residential treatment and aftercare as well as outpatient therapy. I also specialize in grief relating to pregnancy loss, fertility challenges and pregnancy after loss. Life throws curve balls, and we can feel so lost when the story we had for ourselves doesn’t go as planned. After having lived through this myself I dedicated the study of my MSW to grief and loss incorporating a Narrative Therapy approach. We will work together to determine what you need and how we will get there!
