Where are you from? Hong Kong What were you doing before pursuing RMT? I was working as a personal trainer while studying at SFU for my psychology undergrad. That primed me to incorporate lots of movement and education in my massage treatments. Why do you want to be an RMT? While working as a trainer during my uni days, I realised the knowledge gaps I had in anatomy, physiology & movement. This inspired me to step it up in knowledge and skill, so I can facilitate optimizing and healing with my future clients’ health and fitness goals, while continuing to work in a 1 on 1 dynamic to provide holistic support. I include movement and strengthening in my treatments for long-term pain improvement. How do you like to spend your time outside of work/school? I love running down Grouse Mountain during the warmer days, streaming movies and shows during the hibernation season, and squatting in the gym throughout the year. Occasionally I do and teach aerial acrobatics. What is your favourite thing about VCMT? The supportive atmosphere between peers in different levels, and the encouragement from our instructors. People I’ve gotten to meet because of the environment, and all my lovely patients that helped build my confidence and manual skills. Also how incredibly close we are to the waters. Do you speak fluently any languages other than English? I also speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently!
