About Peter

Born in Montreal and raised partly in England, Pete returned to Canada after high school and attended the University of Toronto while pursuing his passion for competitive cycling. He trained with the goal of qualifying for the 1988 Seoul Olympics, but a back injury forced him to miss the trials. With more than $10,000 in racing and travel debt, Pete took a chance on an advertisement inviting people to “Come see the Rockies! Come work at Jasper Park Lodge!” That decision changed the course of his life. Pete spent several years in Jasper and Whistler working in hospitality, eventually becoming Executive Chief Steward at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. His passion for athletics never faded. Pete continued cycling extensively throughout the Rockies, including the Jasper-to-Lake Louise ride, and completed the Golden Triangle three times. His own experience with a significant back injury and his lifelong interest in health, movement, and fitness eventually led him toward a career in massage therapy. After working in I.T. for 10 years, Pete returned to his athletic roots and attended the Massage Therapy program at Mount Royal University. Today, Pete has performed thousands of massage therapy treatments and brings a clinical, individualized approach to his work. He takes the time to listen carefully to each client, understand their goals and concerns, and identify the areas that may be contributing to their symptoms. He is particularly experienced in working with shoulder injuries and musculoskeletal concerns, using therapeutic massage techniques to address pain, tension, mobility restrictions, and movement-related issues. Pete believes that effective massage therapy should have a purpose beyond simply feeling good in the moment. His treatments are tailored to each person's needs, whether the goal is recovering from an injury, managing persistent tension or pain, improving mobility, supporting athletic performance and recovery, or simply helping the body move and function more comfortably. Committed to continual learning, Pete regularly studies massage therapy, physiotherapy, movement, and related health topics. He brings his own background as an athlete and his experience with injury into his clinical practice, with the goal of providing every client with thoughtful, purposeful, and personalized care. Having lived in Jasper, Pete is excited to explore the Yukon, learn more about its beauty and history, and become part of the community.
