About Monica
Hello! I’m Dr Monica Bahri, a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I bring over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, academic instruction, and community outreach, supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and am currently completing my supervised practice with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
I recently moved from Edmonton to Bonnyville, Alberta, to serve the community and continue providing accessible, compassionate mental health care.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based care. Clients benefit from practical coping skills, greater self-awareness, and support for achieving their personal goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), music therapy, and client-centered counselling. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, and life transitions, using a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens shaped by diverse experiences in Canada and India.
I work with adolescents (12+), adults, couples, and families. In our sessions, you will experience a supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we will strengthen your resilience, develop coping skills tailored to your needs, and help you confidently navigate challenges, so you can experience greater well-being and fulfillment in your life.
I have spent over a decade teaching psychology at the college level and leading community mental health initiatives focused on wellness, education, and empowerment.
