Your world seems marked by disconnection, and you’re looking for a lifeline that’s tethered to something real. What you long for is genuine, caring human contact that might help you back to solid ground.
As someone who has traversed multiple cultures – a son of immigrants, a teenager and young adult who studied and worked overseas, an equal-parts believer/doubter – I relate to anyone who feels caught in-between: couples who have moved out of the comforts of certainty; parents tumbling through their kids’ stages of development; promising professionals facing professions without promise; displaced persons hurt by fractured communities or unchosen upheaval.
I believe humans need connection. Connection to and within ourselves. Connection to other living beings. And connection to broader and deeper meaning.
In our sessions, I want to help you re-discover and create anew the connections in your own story. We will listen to what your heart, mind, and body might be suggesting need repair or strengthening; we’ll identify persistent patterns that emerge from your personal and family history; and we’ll take action to get you back on the pathways that lead to positive change.
I commit to bringing to our collaboration hospitality, insight, and encouragement, as much as I can, whenever we share space together.
Additional background
I have enjoyed writing in some form since the time of dot matrix printers and have worked primarily with words for 20+ years – sometimes as an editor, briefly as a grad student (theological studies), earnestly in multiple leadership roles, and most recently as a communications coach and consultant for non-profit leaders, entrepreneurs, and authors/creatives. Recognizing that the energy in my conversations was often directed toward meaning and motivation rather than metrics and monetization, I made the vocational shift toward counselling to place at the centre of my work and words the goals I believe to be most life-giving.
My master’s degree in counselling psychology is in process at Adler University, Vancouver, with an expected completion in the fall of 2027. I am a parent, spouse, son, sibling, and friend; you are welcome in my counselling practice in all your uniqueness and social and cultural location.
