Lou (they/them) is a Registered Massage Therapist that focuses on therapeutic massage rooted in assessment, clinical reasoning, and patient education. Rather than general relaxation or spa-style services, their practice emphasizes treatments tailored to functional needs, injury recovery, and nervous-system awareness.
Lou's approach emphasizes understanding the nervous system, its tolerance, preferences, and responses to treatment. By fostering a supportive and safe environment, Lou can adjust their methods to ensure that each treatment resonates with the patient. Sometimes, these adjustments lead to significant changes that promote longer-term results.
Recognizing and adapting to each person’s unique responses naturally extends into a broader, individualized approach. Treatments are provided with patient-centered care, approaching each patient with attention to their personal journey toward wellness or rehabilitation.
Lou enjoys working with patients who are curious about their bodies, engaged in their homecare, and invested in building a personalized plan that fits their goals. Every session is grounded in consent-based open communication with care that is nervous system informed, trauma-informed, and neurodivergence informed. Cultivating a supportive approach, combining knowledge and experience with creativity to find what truly works for each person.
Lou's goal is ultimately to collaborate with patients to create a treatment plan that respects their experiences and facilitates change, and Lou believes being a lifelong learner is how they can best accomplish that. This motivates Lou to nurture a deeper understanding of how to best support postpartum, neurodiverse, chronic pain, autoimmune, and gender-diverse populations.
