About Lorena

Lorena is the Director, Clinical Supervisor, and Registered Psychotherapist at Harmony Counselling Services, with over 24 years of experience working in clinical and community-based settings, including hospitals, educational centers, and private practice. Her work focuses on children, youth, parenting and adults addressing a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, school difficulties, social/emotional issues, life transitions, unhealthy family dynamics and more. Lorena has extensive experience working with parents, offering parenting training and using evidence-based early intervention parenting programs that focus on strengthening parenting competencies and fostering parent involvement. Lorena integrates a client-centered approach and utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Play Therapy, CBT, Art Therapy, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Lorena also has experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and she is committed to supporting families with practical strategies and tools to foster healthy relationships and personal growth. Lorena holds a Master of Art in Counselling Psychology in addition to Bachelors of Arts in Educational Psychology, as well as Diploma in Early Childhood Educator and an Early Interventionist-Resource Consultant Certificate. Lorena is a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO) as well as Member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professional (OAMHP). She speaks English and Spanish fluently, providing services in both languages!
