About Laura

I meet with clients online across Canada and the United States, in English or French. My approach is relational, experiential, and justice-centred. When something painful is present, I will not hurry you past it. I work from the trust that something in you already knows the next step, and my part is making enough room for that knowing to surface. I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in British Columbia, Ontario, and Nova Scotia, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont. As a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Therapist, Certified Grief Therapist, and WPATH GEI SOC8 Certified Professional Member, I draw on mindfulness, somatic work, and parts-based approaches. I work with adults and partners navigating grief and loss, relational harm, identity, and the impacts of trauma, and I offer gender-affirming care. Parents and caregivers also come to me for support as they navigate a young person's changing world. I provide clinical supervision and peer consultation for therapists and social workers tending to their own practice. Before joining this practice, I spent years in community organizing, clinical research, and social work education, and I co-host The Living Practice podcast with Clayre.
