About Landon

Hello! My name is Landon Gross, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge. As an undergraduate, I was a member of the Pronghorns Men's Hockey Team, where I was an Academic All-Canadian. My journey from athlete to provisional psychologist has taught me that performance and well-being go hand in hand. During graduate studies, I focused my research on life skills and mental health in sport, where I developed an understanding of what's important for success in life and sport. Life is filled with difficulties that require support in finding a path forward. I believe that while our past experiences and relationships shape who we are, we all have the capacity to create growth and meaningful change. I strive to collaborate with you to develop a shared understanding of core issues and make a difference from the get-go, drawing from therapeutic approaches like Person-Centered, Existential, and Psychodynamic theories. These foundations, complemented by Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and insights from evolutionary psychology and neuroscience, help create lasting positive change. Away from the office, you'll find me exploring human stories through autobiographies and memoirs, staying active with sports and fitness, walking my dog, or chasing after my twins. I'm also an avid podcast listener, especially enjoying comedy to keep things light and health/psychology topics to satisfy my love of learning.
