About Kristi
Hi, I'm Kristi (they/them)!
Our experiences are shaped by the weight of the systems that constrain us, which is daunting to bear alone. My approach to therapy is relational, non-pathologizing, neurodiversity and 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, trauma- and structurally informed. I am a queer non-binary, disabled, and neurodivergent white settler with over 10 years of combined experience as a therapist and community-based social worker.
I support folks from varied social, cultural and economic backgrounds navigate an array of topics like self-exploration, gender and sexuality, grief and loss, complex trauma, life transitions of all kinds, neurodivergence, relational wounds, social inequities, disability, substance use and beyond. I am deeply committed to working alongside queer, trans, disabled, and/or neurodivergent humans as well as those experiencing intense or stigmatized emotional experiences (i.e., C-PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, dissociation, suicidality, etc.).
I believe that healing is a relational process. Together, we can co-construct an intentional, safe and compassionate space that explores the complexities of life with curiosity; including the ups, downs and in-betweens. I combine techniques from different therapy styles and theoretical frameworks to suit your unique needs while sprinkling creativity, humour and playfulness into the process. Specifically, I may draw from EMDR, ERP, DBT, attachment-focused and somatic approaches while also honouring your inner wisdom, lived experiences, capacity and resources.
My practice is rooted in queer, abolitionist, and anti-colonial thought as well as the principles guiding body neutrality, collective liberation, harm reduction and disability justice.
