About Kirsten
Kirsten Christensen, RMT, R.Ac.
Kirsten is a Registered Massage Therapist and Registered Acupuncturist with more than 10 years of experience treating musculoskeletal pain, injuries and movement-related concerns.
After many years of working as an RMT at Momentum, Kirsten has expanded her clinical practice into acupuncture at Momentum’s Glen Drive location. Her background in massage therapy, anatomy and soft-tissue treatment brings a unique perspective to her acupuncture practice, particularly when working with musculoskeletal injuries, persistent pain and rehabilitation.
Kirsten offers Therapeutic Acupuncture + Hot Stone Meridian Warming, combining individualized acupuncture with warming of selected meridians before needling. Depending on the client and their treatment goals, sessions may also incorporate electro-acupuncture, Chinese cupping and gua sha.
She has a particular interest in treating musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries, neck and back pain, headaches and muscle tension, as well as injuries following motor vehicle accidents. Kirsten welcomes ICBC clients and can incorporate acupuncture into an MVA rehabilitation plan.
Her acupuncture practice is not limited to injuries. Treatment may also support clients experiencing concerns such as stress, sleep difficulties, digestive issues and other health and wellness concerns.
Kirsten’s approach is practical, therapeutic and individualized. She enjoys combining her knowledge of Western anatomy and musculoskeletal rehabilitation with the principles and techniques of Chinese medicine to create a treatment plan based on each client’s needs.
New clients, previous massage therapy clients and ICBC clients are all welcome.
If clients can’t find an appointment time that works for them, they can join Kirsten’s waitlist or contact Momentum’s admin team about additional availability. Additional treatment times are opened based on demand, including occasional weekend appointments.
Hours vary — typically Tuesdays, Thursdays and select weekends.
