Where are you from? Mission, Canada What were you doing before pursuing RMT? Before I started at VCMT, I was working as a cashier at a grocery store. It was during my time there that I discovered how much I genuinely enjoy working with people, which played a big role in choosing massage therapy as my future career. Why do you want to be an RMT? I've always been fascinated by the human anatomy and the way our bodies work. I also find it very rewarding to help people, whether that means trying to relieve pain, improve their movement in daily life or just giving them some time to relax when they are struggling to find a moment of peace in their day. How do you like to spend your time outside of work/school? When I'm not in school, I am usually spending time with friends and family or curled up in bed with a good book. In 2020, reading became part of my everyday routine and it has been my favourite pastime ever since. I haven't been able to read much of anything outside of textbooks recently, but recommendations are always welcome. What is your favourite thing about VCMT? My favourite thing about VCMT is my cohort. They are such a supportive group of people and have made it so easy to wake up and come to school everyday. In such an intensive program having a strong support system is very important and they have quickly become one of mine.
