About John
John graduated from the 3,000-hour Registered Massage Therapy program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, British Columbia, in 2005. Since then he has gained over 19,000 hours of clinical experience successfully treating conditions such as tension headaches, thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, myofascial trigger points, and TMJ dysfunction, among many others.
John has extensive experience in treatment modalities such as deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, sports, prenatal, and dedicated relaxation/stress support. Grounded in compassion, he aims to address each client's individual goals and immediate symptoms, while maintaining a holistic perspective, investigating underlying causes including mechanisms of injury, postural habits, activities of daily living, and ergonomic factors, to help create long-term change for the better.
John is an extremely proud father of 2, holds a diploma in Pastry Arts from the Dubrulle Culinary Institute (Vancouver), was formerly a highly competitive hockey goaltender, has been
an amateur songwriter for over 30 years, and is an avid reader across all genres, with a particular fondness for Zen Buddhist philosophy. A fiercely proud Canadian, he is originally from the Greater Toronto Area, and has also lived in Montreal, Vancouver, Nelson, and Kingston. He relocated to Ottawa with his children in 2013
