About Jaymi
Registered Physiotherapist
Raised in the Cowichan Valley, Jaymi is extremely happy to be back home on Vancouver Island. She graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario; first with a Bachelours of Health Sciences (2009) and than continuing on to a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy (2011). After graduation, Jaymi enjoyed having the opportunity to give back to her alma mater by becoming a clinical instructor in the physiotherapy program. Jaymi continues to teach as an assistant instructor and mentor with our national orthopaedic division - receiving the Lynn Chapman mentorship award in 2021.
Upon completing her education, Jaymi has maintained a strong focus on furthering her skills, completing rigorous training to become a certified FCAMPT (Fellow of the Canadian Association of Manual and Manipulative Therapists) as well as being certified by Acupuncture Canada and taking courses in vestibular rehabilitation and temporomandicular dysfunction (jaw pain). Jaymi also has a special clinical interest in thoracic outlet syndome (TOS), neck pain, neurogenic pain and headaches.
Jaymi’s treatment philosophy is focused on patient centered care – she will develop a treatment plan based on your distinct goals and she uses a combination of manual therapy and patient-specific exercise to get you there. With a strong belief in treating her clients effectively and efficiently, Jaymi’s main objective is always to quickly get you to where you want to be and provide you with the tools and education to stay there.
Outside of the clinic, you will find Jaymi outside - gardening, running, hiking, cycling or paddle boarding - with her husband and son.
