About Freda

My name is Freda Bizimana and I am a Rwandan-Canadian who was born and raised in Canada. I have recently completed my Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto with the passion of working with children, youth and their families. I love to motivate and encourage others to express themselves, so my passion and focus are on healing through the arts. I have three years of experience working with Black and racialized youth in conflict with the law and supporting them with navigating the criminal justice and school systems. I’ve worked with youth both one-on-one and in group settings discussing topics such as identity, anger and aggression, strengths and coping skills and healthy and unhealthy relationships. The modalities I have experience working with are client centered approach and strength-based approach. I believe my role is to support you in your journey and help you build the tools to work through any obstacle life throws at you by providing a space to express and grow. By using the strengths and skills you already have, together we can build healthy coping skills that work for you so you can continue to practice self-care and self-love.
