Lois is a Registered Acupuncturist who takes a whole-body approach to care, combining traditional East Asian medicine with contemporary clinical perspectives to develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's health history, presentation, and goals.
Her clinical interests include pain management, stress reduction, nervous system regulation, musculoskeletal concerns, and supporting patients through recovery and rehabilitation. Through acupuncture, Lois considers the patient's overall presentation, health history, and contributing factors when developing an individualized treatment approach.
Lois also recently completed a Registered Massage Therapy program, further developing her knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal assessment. This additional education has strengthened her understanding of the relationship between structure, movement, pain, and overall function, and complements her acupuncture practice.
Before entering healthcare, Lois spent 20 years working as a hairstylist and owned and operated her own salon. Her experience working closely with clients taught her the importance of communication, trust, attentive listening, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable discussing their concerns. These qualities continue to shape her patient-centred approach to care.
Lois believes effective care begins with understanding the individual rather than focusing solely on a single symptom. She takes the time to listen to each patient's concerns and works collaboratively with them to establish realistic treatment goals.
Lois takes a whole-body approach to care, recognizing that physical pain, stress, movement, and overall health can be interconnected. Her goal is to meet each patient where they are, provide individualized treatment, and help facilitate the body's own capacity for recovery and improved function.
