About Derek
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Derek has a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology along with a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. Throughout his education, he has gained valuable experiences, not just from private physiotherapy clinics, but also from hospitals and care centres as well. These include patients with musculoskeletal injuries, acute and/or chronic pain, neurological conditions, along with more complex conditions such as stroke and post-surgical patients.
All of these experiences reflect in his treatment style, blending in manual therapy techniques with functional exercises to maximize the patient’s benefit when coming in for rehab. Furthermore, he firmly believes that the rehab process should be done holistically, since everyone has their own unique experiences.
In his free time, you can find Derek at the gym lifting weights, playing volleyball/basketball, and at home watching whichever sports game is playing that night.
Derek is fluent in both English and Cantonese.
