About Anna

Hello! I’m Anna (she/her) and I’m grateful to be offering clinical counselling services to the qathet community as part of the Timber team. As I work with you, my intention is to foster a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where you can feel safe to share whatever is on your mind and heart, without fear of judgement. With an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approach, I aim to draw on your intuition and innate strengths to promote the healing, growth or change that you are seeking. As our time in session together only constitutes a small part of your life, I believe it's important to support you in building a toolkit of knowledge, skills and tools upon which you can rely to navigate life with self-compassion, clarity, and confidence. To me, walking the path alongside you as you process memories, work through emotions, face current challenges, explore different parts of yourself, and grow your toolkit, is a privilege. I feel deep gratitude to be invited on these meaningful journeys. I completed my Master's of Social Work at the University of British Columbia, and I am a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, as well as a registered social worker with the BC College of Social Workers. I work with individual adult clients (18 years and older), and I tend to support people struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, life transitions, internalized oppression, relationship issues, grief & loss, or a desire for growth. My work is informed by the strengths-based approach, biopsychosocial-spiritual model, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), pain science, Polyvagal theory, Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems, among many other perspectives, modalities and approaches. I am a settler on these lands, with European ancestry on both sides of my family. I grew up on the shared, unceded, traditional and ancestral territories of the xwməθkwəy̓ əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, colonially known as Vancouver. I'm grateful to currently be living on the traditional and ancestral territory of the ɬaʔamɩn (Tla'amin) people, colonially known as Powell River. I recognize my privilege and responsibility as a settler and steward. What supports me in feeling centered, grounded and alive in my life are my connections with my friends & family; spending time in nature; enjoying nutritious, tasty & colourful meals; moving my body (yoga, hiking, swimming, dancing, climbing, biking, skiing); and engaging with art - whether it be music, film, television, photography, or paintings. If you’d like to connect with me before booking a session, please feel free to reach out at annabockcounselling@gmail.com, and I would be happy to answer your questions by email or schedule a free 20-min video consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
