About Andra

Andra Schonfeld has been practising Physiotherapy since 1996 in Europe and since 2015 in Toronto, Ontario. She received her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University and has been practising in private clinic settings. She began her career as a Teaching Assistant (TA) at University of Oradea, working with two Physiotherapists with advanced training in Neuromotor control and Neurorehabilitation. This allowed Andra to gain valuable knowledge of neuromotor control of human movement. She developed a keen eye when assessing and treating each client in order to find the "driver " and restore optimal movement. As a lifelong learner, Andra is relentlessly seeking the best evidence practice speciality courses to enhance her professional development and expertise. Through her ongoing education Andra obtained certificates in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture and Advanced Neuro-Functional Sports Performance from McMaster University. She is also a certified Level 1 Concussion Specialist and a candidate to Level 2 Shift Concussion Program. Andra has undertaken additional studies in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Mulligan’s joint mobilizations techniques, McKenzie method, Levels I-IV in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and Pain Management. She holds numerous certifications in orthopedic clinical skills obtained through APTEI, Key Clinical Skills, and OrthoCanada. Andra utilizes the strength and conditioning background that she gained during her Bachelor Degree in Health and Science and as a Certified Personal Trainer CPTN-CPT with her clients. Her clinical focus includes Sports Therapy, Pelvic Health, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and complex cases including Chronic Pain Management. Andra’s ongoing education and many years of experience allowed her to gain insights dealing with complex clinical cases in sports injuries, postural impairments, pain patterns and pelvic rehabilitation. Recreationally Andra has an ongoing passion for fitness, running, volleyball. She also enjoys scuba diving, underwater photography and spending quality time with family. Andra’s enduring passion for “the art and science“ of physiotherapy, plus her commitment to a client-centered approach, lead to the opening of Eglinton Physiotherapy Boutique Clinic, as she continues to embrace high standards of care for her clientele.
