About Alyssa
Alyssa was raised in Guelph and began her studies earning a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and went on to graduate from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. She is an active member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association.
Her hobbies of volleyball, competitive dance and fitness have created a healthy and active lifestyle for her and an aptitude for improving the well-being of others. This passion inspired further curiosity to learn and understand the human body and how it operates as a dynamic unit of function as it pertains to each individual.
Osteopathy became a pathway for her to acquire the knowledge and skills to help restore proper anatomical and physiological barriers preventing the body’s natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Now, through her practice she is able to use osteopathic principles in both assessment and treatment to determine how to liberate the nerve, artery, vein and lymphatic systems allowing the tissues to receive proper fluid dynamics. Treatment is aimed to liberate these structures to allow proper physiological mechanisms so the body can return to normal functioning and improve the wellbeing of the individual.
