“I can’t say enough great things about Selkirk Optical! Dr. Butler is fantastic—professional, thorough, and easy to talk to. The team handling the pre-tests was equally impressive—friendly, efficient, and made the whole process comfortable. A special shoutout to Jen, who is truly a superstar. She picked out frames for me that I absolutely love—ones I wouldn’t have even considered myself! She also went above and beyond in helping me understand my options for prescription sunglasses and contact lenses. Her knowledge and genuine care made a huge difference. “This business does not take responsibility for the products or services provided. I had purchased my ($800) glasses there and recently brought them in for a basic adjustment. I got home and they fell apart. Frames broken at the point the screws are attached. Came back in and explained what happened and was told that the warranty was expired and i would have to pay out of pocket for new frames. They said adjustments (done by them) were "at my own risk". Issue was brought to manager and they offered a meagre 10% off new frames. Seems obvious they should replace the frames free of charge. No apology offered, no responsibility taken. “Love the staff. In the past they have helped me a lot to monitor my vision, doing the testing for my peripherals since I’m a glaucoma suspect with high eye pressure. They didn’t test me for the peripherals this time even though I asked for it. I’m disabled and don’t qualify for gov support on testing for another few years so I’m disappointed they didn’t do that test on me since it’s important. The staff is always super kind and helpful, I’m not sure why they didn’t test me this time.”Read moreShow less

“Very rude service at customer desk. I got injury in eyes because of contact lens and had minor bleed. Already had an appointment with doctor but they wanted me to wear the lenses even though they knew it didn’t suited my eyes. I asked to talk to doctor for a minute and let her see my eyes. But no, you will charged, need to get an appointment again and have to pay extra when I already had an appointment. You guys work in a health care system and show this humanity when someone is suffering. We also get some time off our schedules and show up for appointments so if customers are supposed to respect your time, you guys need to show some respect too. Everyone works for money but I felt you guys needed opportunities to get appointments and money, and let us suffer right? Thank you for great experience”Read moreShow less

“I’ve been a client of Selkirk Eyecare and Dr. Proctor for about 10 years. The service they’ve provided has been excellent. The staff calls me for appointment reminders, appointments are available on weekdays and weekends, and Dr. Proctor is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and he communicates clearly. The front staff have helped me find glasses that fit my face properly and Selkirk Eyecare’s in-house service provides exceptionally fast services. I highly recommend!”Read moreShow less

“Excellent doctor! 5 stars for her! Rotten service at front desk! Came out to fill prescription and pick out new glasses and was first told that my exam was not covered. I said this is School Board plan and I was covered no problem two years ago and I know I am covered and please check again but she didn’t and she didn’t even bother to get up from desk to come and help me pick out glasses. So frustrated I paid the bill, took my prescription and went home. Immediately I checked with Pacific Blue Cross and was 100% covered up to $100. Just like two years ago when I was at your very place of business. Now I know why people take the time to struggle with on-line purchasing because it’s no different then dealing with people who can’t admit they made a mistake and try again. Oh well you lose, my $350.00 coverage for glasses over and above the exam which I now have to submit for payment, will go to a more deserving Eyecare dispenser shop.”Read moreShow less
