“This past Tuesday I was there as my son had split his head at daycare and required stitches. Obviously with any ER visit you should have the expectations to be waiting for a few hours but everyone, and I mean everyone along the way made the visit easy. Triage to Super Track, all the nurses, student nurses/doctors and doctors were incredibly friendly, caring, helpful with our two year old. They kept our son comfortable and us in the loop on what to expect/what they were doing. Shoutout to Dr. Ferdman, Heather, Scott and everyone else. I'm missing a few names of the nurses, but we appreciate you guys very much.”Read moreShow less

“They had me waiting for 5 hours and had multiple people go before me while i had a pain level of 8, and told them that, because ‘i would need more testing done then others’ then once i got into the hospital they said it wasnt an emergency and they would only do blood and urine test. Aswell as nurses telling patients who were clearly in a lot of pain that they need wheelchairs for other people and making them get up…this was ridiculous, no one listened to me, and when i told a murse i couldnt take imodium because it literally made the pain 10x worse ( WHILE ALREADY AT AN 8! ) and she loudly made fun of me to the doctor. I dont get the point in getting a profession in nursing and being a doctor if you cant even do your job. Get more donotars ( which will be hard since all of your nurses have an attitude ) this hospital is literally the worst hospital i have ever been too.”Read moreShow less

“I had nothing but a positive experience with all of the staff including volunteers, nurses and doctors when I was brought to emerge yesterday. Yes there was a long wait trying to get x-rays because they were backed up, but a volunteer saw that I was in the hall in pain and helped me get some medication and expedited treatment. Everyone was super great and explained everything thoroughly and continue to check on me throughout the day. The staff for all kind and attentive. Thank you to all who helped yesterday!”Read moreShow less

“You have to give it one star to post a review, so I have. That's only so I can share my experience so others hopefully will not have to deal with the same. Save yourself some time and seek care at a different hospital. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Had a bad experience here when I was much younger and have chosen to not go back myself. If you can and are able too, go to near by clinics, 222 King St. has a great clinic. Have not had a good experience at this hospital for my grandmother. They've discharged her early, pushing her out on multiple occasions. Allowing a social worker to cut her red bracelet off prior to her leaving, leaving people to believe she could use a walker... when she hadn't been out of bed at your hospital for months. Less than 24 hours later, she's rushed back in very injured thanks to your social worker. NO accountability.”Read moreShow less

“The worst hospital and medical staff. I recall during my daughter’s illness when she was 2.5 yrs old and was throwing up more than 10 times a day, the ER doctor had not provided any IV or medication other than the usual tylenol reference. Similarly, I was pregnant with my 2nd child and had hyperemesis gravidrum for which I was profusely throwing up more than 7 times a day and the ER here once again during 2 visits never provided IV and sent me back home with a very strong medication that isn’t something my OB had suggested because apparently it’s something that’s provided to Cancer patients. Terrible experience and even if this hospital gets renovated, I wouldn’t step foot in because clearly even the nurses signing you in talk to patients with arrogance and mock your symptoms. Hopefully the MP of Clarington reviews this note and actually consider visiting the medical sites to understand where and why the medical care lacks in and how to enhance the experience and medical professionals needs to be thoroughly assessed if they can actually assist patients well. My OB and family doctor were annoyed and surprised that the ER did not assist me with IV despite of my condition.”Read moreShow less

“Lakeridge Health Bowmanville is a very nice, cozy little hospital. The service here is good, and the nurses and doctors are great. The rooms are clean and the whole place feels very welcoming. It is a wonderful facility for our community.”
