I stayed in CC for my 90 days. Nurses Patricia and Asunsion were Great. PSWs Olive, Renalyn, Monica, Yvonne and Nevi were incredible. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing Convelesant care. Thank you girls.

Above average experience, it is evident the staff care about the residents. Food is good and communication from management is excellent. Dated building but kept clean always. Thank you for taking good care of our elders.

Come here for 3 years since 2022 (2022-2025 Aug and onwards) 4 hours per day 7 days a week to care for my mother. Found some excellent PSW and nurses here. Recreation program that takes care of residents mental and physical health. More needs to be improved though such as better ventilation systems (residents suffering from too hot or too cold all year round) and administration...and many more. Southbridge, expecting more from you. PS. My father was also a resident in 2012. I am a returning family and a whistleblower.

This has to be the worst home going your breakfast is watery, eggs, and cold. They treat the patients like garbage. They stick their nose up at you thinking that they’re better than you are the nurses you can’t get a hold of anybody because you leave messages but they don’t call you back Every four months they raise your rent but don’t tell you and take it out of your bank account

My Dad has no vision and he stayed here for a 90 day Rehab session. Amazing PSW workers, very kind and supportive. My dad called this place a heaven for him. They always take extra care and go above and beyond to help their patients and make them feel at home. My heartfelt thanks to Nurse Patricia, you are so kind and caring. PSW workers Launa, Rain, Olive, Monika and Sharmila were amazing and very kind and helpful. Physiotherapist Geetha and Amitha helped my dad to become stronger. I also want to say huge thanks to Ashley the care home manager for all her assistance while my dad stayed here. Lastly, Christin our case manager, you are such a wonderful person and helped us in all the possible ways throughout this journey.

(Long review) My mom has been staying here since a couple of months ago. So this review is based on the experience so far - which may be amended in the future. Background: - We were looking for a facility that is not too far (in Scarborough/North York area) that provide Asian food (or Chinese food). - The requirements limit the choices to Yee Hong, Mon Sheong, Tendercare, Kennedy Lodge - Amongst the choices, Kennedy Lodge facility is the oldest, the parking is a bit limited, but we can park at the church nearby - Yee Hong and Mon Sheong waiting lists are really long, so realistically if someone wants to get into a government subsidized facility, Tendercare and Kennedy Lodge are the two most probable choices. First impression: - The social worker, Cindy, at Kennedy Lodge was really nice and helpful. She gives you quite some honest input and makes you feel that they care. Admission: - We had 5 days lead time to move in once we accepted the bed - Process was smooth and I was given an info package so I know who is in charge of what - The first week is always challenging (change is never easy). So expect calls from the facility. They just want to make sure they communicate and get the necessary info and consent if neeeded. Living there: - Since I live close by, I usually visit 2 times a week. From observation, they have really a lot of activities for the residence there. - In addition to the nurses and PSWs, there were quite some recreation staffs and they have a calendar full of events! E.g. on St. Patrick’s day they dressed up and had a parade!!! Sometimes they have people coming to perform Chinese opera, a variety of things. - The food also seems quite good! With two choices usually. The only thing is that I find they don’t have a lot of fresh fruits, so I usually bring my mom some fresh fruits when I visit. - One month in, we had a meeting with the whole team, doctor, nurse, physio, recreation. So that everyone is on the same page. The resident was also encouraged to be present and give input. - They also have a resident council. We saw resident’s meeting being held - which only residents can attend (no one else). - There are 4 levels in total. There is an outdoor area that is accessible from the lowest floor. I heard it’s beautiful and full of flowers in the summer. So we look forward to that. Other comments: - We are happy with Kennedy Lodge so far. My mom is overall well there. The staff is friendly and helpful. - The only downside is the older facility but I find that is OK because the people / service there is more important. - Parking - I find usually there is more space before 10am or around 3pm (maybe it’s the change of shifts). There is a TTC stop just outside the facility. Overall the place is very accessible. - Services - Inhouse salon, recreation, occasional special meals, optional foot care (nail clipping), and massage (not very often but they offer that) - Noise - compared to staying at home, one big difference is that there is more “noise” at the facility. But I know that’s because of the equipments, call for service, and sometimes due to some residents. The most important thing I see is that the team tries to make the stay pleasant and safe for the residents. Thank you, team.

We had a terrible experience at this long-term care facility. During my grandmother's one-month stay, she fell twice. On one occasion, when we visited her, she was lying in bed without any covers, and no staff members were attending to her. As a result, we decided to transfer her to a different facility, which provides much better care.

Today I went - as I do every week to visit my dear friend Ms. T. Wong. I had travelled all the way from Ajax only to be turned away! In the past I had observed that the staff were quite cordial - and the PSW very professional, but today it was different. I entered at noon and was given a very hard time. I was really disappointed. It seems like the weekend staff is not well informed whatsoever. What kind of an institution turns people away from visiting their loved ones? I am not impressed! They indicated to me that they had an outbreak. I confirmed I had been vaccinated with the booster shot and I know they test you every time you come in. I also asked them to check their records - me and my wife visit every week. I'm talking to their daughter about this incident, who happens to be working for the police services. Anyway - I didn't make a big fuss, but it really seems like - and it's most unfortunate, that the management behaves in this way.

Yes I understand that parking is a problem, but the staff is amazing. My father is in this home and before he came his health was not the best but since being here he loves it. He says the food is great and the staff takes care of him and others. He also says that everyone works very hard to make sure things are clean and people are safe. I always visit my father and I find that a lot of residents do not get visitors coming, but the staff does make these residents feeling good. Their are activities and my dad loves going outside. Since Covid has hit, the home let’s all family (that are on the list) know what is happening. So if your not on the list, don’t complain. The staff has done an amazing job with cleaning and keeping everyone well.. I would definitely tell people about this place, and I am so happy that my dad is in a place that cares. On behalf of my family I would like to say thank you fir all your hard work and compassion towards everyone. Thanks Again Penny

Patients seem to go downhill so much faster as soon as they show up here. The atmosphere is very depressing and the staff seemed to only pay attention to your loved one if a family member is visiting. I saw staff lose a patient and I had to tell them where she went. I also saw staff laugh at an older woman because they couldn't understand what she was saying. They literally don't care about the patients, find another long term facility, trust me. Take a tour and see how the people without visitors are treated too.
