“They only offer receipts without tax, even though I already paid them the fee, tax and tips. I requested them three times to reissue a complete receipt including the tax I had paid, but they refused, now I cannot claim the tax from insurance. “The ONLY reason I’m giving 3 stars is that the receptionist was nice and the spa itself was beautiful. I’m not usually the one to write bad reviews. I don’t love doing that, but the way I’m feeling today is like I’ve been bashed with a baseball bat all over my body. I booked a one-hour massage yesterday because I had a very stiff, painful neck and lower back. My regular masseuse was fully booked, so I thought I’d try another place. Man, did I regret it, lol. I love medium/high pressure, but this was something else. It was like she hated me or something. She dug into my back with her elbows. On the bad neck I told her about, she just pressed so freaking hard. I thought I’d cry. I asked her multiple times to ease up on the pressure, but she didn’t speak any English… every so often it would feel nice. She would ask if it’s “ok.” I would say yes, and then she would go back to her regular murdering program. I was just laughing to myself, as she clearly didn’t feel any signals from me tensing up and adjusting myself constantly because of the pain I was in. I hate that these places have their staff face clients without any basic English, working in an English-speaking country. At least the basics. I have no idea where she got her license, but I doubt it was here, because my wonderful masseuse in Markham, also Chinese, still understands everything and adjusts her pressure and the massage itself depending on the issue. I came in for a relaxing massage I booked online and left in more pain. I woke up this morning and just couldn’t not say anything, because I’m genuinely surprised I’m not bruised everywhere. This is what I booked. Definitely wasn’t relaxed, lol. Oh, and it was supposed to be $79, but because I wanted an insurance receipt, it jumped to $120 plus tax, and I had to tip, obviously, so I left paying $152. Glad you all had a nice experience here. Clearly weren’t massaged by my lady, or you at least spoke Mandarin/Cantonese.”Read moreShow less
