“They charge for bloodwork when it is 100% covered by OHIP. Also tried to charge me $100 for a doctor's note years ago. I assume the price hasn't been lowered since then. Just disappointed in this hospital. Greedy. Go to North Bay and save your self the trouble.”Read moreShow less

“If I could give a 0 I would. They took my purse, went though it. Stole $100. I contacted the appropriate people. And they stated that no one went in my purse. I was treat less then nicely. Dogs are treated better then I was. Unfortunately because I live in Sturgeon. Im forced to return there when my illness flares up again. They should do something about the way they deal with people. Lisa, Lynn and Mel are amazing ppl. They are always kind. The rest should go back to school!!!”Read moreShow less

“There is something seriously wrong with this hospital and the staff that works the ER. I arrived at 3pm and was not seen until 10pm and there was only three people ahead of me in the waiting room. One was a 92 year old woman and she had waited nearly 7hrs to be seen as well. Sturgeon has more then one doctor so there is no excuse for only having one work the ER room. After the long wait the doctor gave me less than 2 mins of his time and rushed me out door offering little to no advice. Furthermore, the waiting room was filthy and the staff was very unpleasant when I politely asked for an update after 4hrs of waiting.”Read moreShow less

“Very disappointing when the front desk clerk in emerge makes you feel 2 feet tall infront of her colleague's for asking for a token to get your car out of the parking lot because you didnt have any money. You couldn't just do a good deed . No compassion. Why even work in a health care setting? Thanks for embarrassing me, Nicole.. I wont be back .”Read moreShow less

“Terrible experience in the emergency department. Waited for hours in pain with no updates — staff just said the doctor was “attending an ambulance.”Does it take 9 hours to attend an ambulance .Nurses were laughing, drinking coffee, and eating while patients sat suffering. No compassion, no communication, no urgency. This hospital needs to remember what “care” actually means.Wait till karma hits the doctor as he is enjoying food inside and we are waiting in pain.”Read moreShow less

“More than 50 patients are waiting in the emergency room. One person has a hand injury can’t even close his hand. Two women have been coughing, gasping for air, One of them waited there for eight hours. In such a big hospital, they’re SUPPOSABLY just ONE doctor to attend the emergency patients.THE STAFF IS SAYING he is attending the ambulance for SIX HOURS. I believe there wasn’t a doctor present there yesterday too. What’s the point of such a big hospital with sick patients waiting for hrs?.”Read moreShow less

“I visited here in last week at the emergency department. Once i cleared the intake process, i waited my turn to be called in to examination room . Dr Vaillancourt was very understanding and listened to my medical issue . He ordered some bloodwork and also a Cat Scan to rule out other possibilities causing the pain . The lab technicians were highly professional and polite and kind. The Cat Scan Technician was also very professional, polite , and understanding ! Dr Vaillancourt was very professional , polite & understanding in what risk factors were relative to what needed to be ruled out Given my Cancer status and risk factors , and determining the root cause or source . Awesome Hospital !”Read moreShow less

“I had a wonderful experience at this hospital yesterday. I had to get a CT scan and the Sudbury hospital was going to take so long to even call me to book the appointment. When I got to this hospital I was greeted with a smile. I was shown where to go. I registered and sat down. Not even 5 minutes later they had me in to do the scan. The person who did the scan was so nice. After the scan, I passed out and the nurse was so nice about it. She gave me a cold cloth and some water and I didn't feel rushed. The staff were awesome. Thank you very much to all of them.”Read moreShow less
