“I was at the triage, and then the nurse who was attending to me had the audacity to refer mine or someone else's situation as "theatrics." That's not the right thing to say to anyone at the hospital. I understand it might slip out sometimes but not at the hospital, it's the worst place to dismiss anything as insensitive as "theatrics." Not the best place for customer service at least in the triage, otherwise the service was fine, doctors were great and surgery was good. Very insensitive people at the triage, would not recommend much.”Read moreShow less

“My coworker was sent home with her finger completely swollen around her ring. It was broken, purple and the ring was cutting off the blood flow. They just sent her away like that. Just gave her pain meds and sent her home. With the ring stuck. She had to go get back in line at another hospital to get real emergency care. A separate time I was actually assaulted by a nurse there. About a decade ago another coworker of mine was sent away after ripping the tendons in his arm. Unfortunately for him by the time he got a ct and a second option the tendons had curled up and it was no longer possible to fix with surgery. This man lives in pain unable to lift his arm to this day. They also just gave him pain meds and send him away. Its too bad this is just the norm there. Hopefully change is on the horizon. If you are there and they are sending you away with pain meds trust your gut and get another opinion. This is your life and limb on the line. Write that complaint, don't be polite. Stand up for what's right. Do not disregard your injury. You are not the problem.”Read moreShow less

“06/11/26 had a procedure done to remove a broken tooth and damaged implant anchor. The staff there was very cool, informative and easy to communicate with. They made my experience very pleasant and comfortable, as well as safe. Thank you all for your professionalism and dedication. And sorry to the pre-med section for having a difficult time reaching me at work.”Read moreShow less

“Had my hysterectomy here and the staff was so kind to me. I understand they were busy, but they made time to make sure I was comfortable. Special shout out to Dina in day care surgery admission. You made me and my partner feel really good about a scary event.”

“We went to emergency in Victoria General Hospital as my daughter was sick. We could meet a doctor after waiting for 3.5 hour. There was no doctors and there were only two patients ahead of us. We arrived there around 5 pm and two doctors arrived at around 8 pm. There was a play table and TV for kids at the pediatric care and clean waiting area. Nurses were very supportive and kind. The doctor was patient and listened to the details. Our baby needed to take an X-ray. My daughter was diagnosed with pneumonia. The whole process finished within 5 hours. This was my first time going to emergency in a hospital in Canada. I really appreciate the service and support of all employee at the hospital, from registration, pediatric care, and X-ray. They were all very kind. ( p.s. the kid table was clean and tidy too. I took this photo after a kid played with everything there). ……… Update on May 3, 2026 ( I gave 5 stars for my first visit in March but I would now rate 1 star based on my most recent visit in May) The pediatric care unit is closed and we have been waiting for more than 8 hours … we came as my 3 year old daughter has been coughing for 4 weeks and she has a fever and become lethargic. I am worried if she is having pseumonia like the last time. there is nothing I can do than going to ER. Waiting at the general ER waiting room with a 3 year old toddler is quite a challenge. If you are a parent, you can understand. It has been over 8 hours and we are still waiting…… i am sad to know that the hospital has good facilities but not a good system….Although my daughter’s symptoms are not severe, it is not fair to let a toddler wait in ER for more than 8 hours. …. We could see a doctor after 9 hours waking. The screening time was only 30 minutes. The doctor and nurses were very supportive. Just the system needs to be improved.”Read moreShow less

“On April 5th I had surgery on my neck with doctor Warren, a neurosurgeon. Met several of his team before the procedure who explained what the procedure entailed which relieved any concerns that I had. They all had wonderful bedside manners and I felt quite relaxed going into the next stage. The procedure was completed then I was taken to the neuroscience ward, I stayed there for five days before being released. I have nothing but good memories of all the nurses and staff in the ward. It appeared that they could not do enough for me and made my stay in the hospital comfortable and stress reduced as possible. They were all good people and I couldn’t hope for better treatment during what was a somewhat stressful time. I take my hat off to all of the workers in the particular part of the hospital.”Read moreShow less

I was moved to a room and within an hour after arrival I seen by the Er Dr who was fantastic with the best bedside manners. Iv had zero experiences at the emergency department before - and was really thankful for the level of care received.
