“Ronna at the front desk is kind and welcoming. Eric (sp?) did my "Nasa lean" test before my intake appointment started. He was kind and personable. My resting HR laying down was 40 bpm above my baseline so I was nervous about the results not reflecting it! However, Dr. Jacobson listened to my story, was thorough with his questions and clearly explained the factors he thinks may be contributing. He is the first doctor I've seen in 4 years, since going from an active lifestyle 6 days a week to mostly housebound, to offer any sort of intervention. He prescribed 2 promising medications, recommended a supplement and gave me a referral for compression leggings. This is significantly more progress than I've made with other health professionals in my 4 years of pushing through this disabling, multi-systemic illness. *Update* 1 month since starting these interventions I've gone from struggling to stand and 10 mins walking at a time max with payback, to now able to stand and walk around my apartment, work my full time remote hours, and walk or resistance train for 1 hour with minimal payback. Dr. Jacobson's care continues to be kind and thorough. I'm very grateful! I'd highly recommend to anyone whose health issues ramped up/were brought on post-virally! “I would encourage you to stay far away from Dr. Elliot Jacobson. Nice guy, but questionably competent. I contacted him during a stressful time to ask for some Armour Thyroid to give me a little boost. It had helped once before. He prescribed it, even before doing bloods, and when the bloods came back optimal re: thyroid, he allowed me to continue. I trusted him that this was okay. In fact, I kept going with it for close to ten months, during which time I began to lose an enormity of weight and became seriously anxious. There were a variety of reasons for this, but the thyroid med was one. He never once insisted on another blood test. And then, when I needed help to calm down and sleep, I asked for a sleeping med called Zopiclone. He provided it, despite knowing that I had real difficulty with it when found illegally inside of a holistic sleeping aid called 'U-Dream'. Thereafter, and I am working hard to get an investigation into what happened to my psyche and body, I went through a tumultuous time that nearly killed me (severe physical and psychological consequences). It may well be that the Zopiclone was not to blame, but it should never have been diagnosed given my history. When I contacted him to let him know what happened, he had the audacity to tell me that I had experienced a previous psychological situation like this. This was untrue, and an effort to divert from his own accountability. I have now lost all respect for Elliot and Venn (where he works). The thing is you pay a significant annual fee for Elliot, in addition to what he charges OHIP. In response, he should have MORE time to focus on you and your meds. Instead, he seems to have less. I have always been an alternative Doctor kind of guy but this brought me back to traditional medicine. My current doctor is not as open-minded as Elliot, but he seems to be more mature and responsible. Elliot has low energy, and that may explain why he doesn't have enough energy to do his job properly. Honestly, all his 'special' education feels more like shtick than anything else. “I have no end of good things to say about Venn Medical. Over a period of time I have worked with a physician, a naturopath, a chiropractor/acupuncturist and a physio therapist. The level of care has been extraordinary across the board without exception. Although I could write for pages, I will say that the use of collaborate care is extraordinary. “A Community of Incredible and Passionate Practitioners!! With being a patient of Venn Med’s since 2021, I have had an utmost positive experience with this incredible clinic, and the truly amazing group of individuals. Venn Med is nothing short of revolutionary medicine, combined with the most caring practitioners, that are beyond passionate about what they do, and they want nothing more than the best for each one of their patients. The medical professionals at Venn Med have become extremely special to me and hold an incredibly important place in my heart. These are not just the people working alongside me on my health, but they teach me so much while inspiring me in so many ways! My relationship with these people make this clinic what it is. From calling about an appointment and getting to talk to either Donna and/or Lisa, to stepping into the office, these two truly brighten my days and can assist me in every way possible. Dr. Jacobson is absolutely my role model and I have never met a doctor as caring and kind as he is. He truly cares. He does not just support me through this journey, but inspires me to be so much more than I am, while helping me with my health situation.
