“It's seriously starting to get ridiculous how hard it is for students to book study rooms now. Recently, they've been booking a lot of rooms to these companies and there haven't been enough for students. I understand that these companies are paying you, but students are too! It was especially egregious during midterm season, when there was this one company that booked nearly every single study room in the building for a week. The security staff can also get really obnoxious with room bookings. The younger lady with the straight shoulder length hair who is always talking on her phone (there are only 2 women there, and the other one appears older with longer hair in a ponytail) was extremely rude to our group. We booked a room until 12 pm for an important meeting on Zoom, but we were running a tad bit late (due to unforeseeable circumstances) and we literally would have finished just 3 minutes after. But at literally 12:00 sharp, she comes in and said that we had to leave immediately. As mentioned, we were all having an important meeting, and she just barges in and rudely interrupts us and was forcing us to leave. We told her we were almost done and apologized, but she said we had to leave now as someone else has booked the room, and we'd have to go back to the front desk to book another room to finish the meeting. I understand that we were running a bit late, but to interrupt people during a meeting is wild. I wouldn't mind it if we were just using the room to chat or do homework, but during a professional meeting?! We thought that security would at least wait a few minutes after, and then if nobody had checked out, then they would go check up on us. We weren't expecting someone to personally (and rudely) escort us out at 12 pm sharp. As someone who used to work a similar job, I couldn't imagine interrupting someone who was obviously in the middle of a professional meeting. I would have signalled that time is up and give them a few minutes to wrap up. I WOULD NOT barge into the room and interrupt. So we left, and the funny thing was, there were empty rooms. Couldn't you have booked that person one of those rooms instead? I'm surprised that girl still works here. She is unprofessional and always has an extremely unpleasant attitude.”
