“I’ve had such a great experience at this studio, both as a student and while completing my Pilates training here. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They create a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and improving at your own pace.🌻 The quality of the education and the attention to proper movement and technique really stand out. Every class has helped me grow, not only as someone who practices Pilates but also as an instructor. I’m truly grateful to have learned from such an amazing instructor trainer Stephanie, and I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for high-quality Pilates classes or professional instructor training. ❤️”Read moreShow less

“I started coming to Trainor Movement Pilates Co. just over a month ago while looking for a place to complete a Pilates teacher training. They offer STOTT Pilates certification, and I’ve signed up for the upcoming anatomy and mat courses (I’ll update this review once I’ve completed them). So far, I’ve really enjoyed the classes. You can book directly through their website, and some classes are also available on ClassPass. Before coming here, I didn’t know you could do mat Pilates on a reformer using an extension that creates a long elevated mat — I think that’s such a cool concept. One thing that feels different about this studio compared to many other studios is the focus on technique, deep stretching, and movements. You’re not just rushing between movements for a hard workout, you’re really focusing on stabilizing and getting the most out of a move. At some studios I might get a harder workout if they add weights or intensity, but I’m not necessarily improving my technique. Here it really feels like you’re working on the foundations of Pilates. Classes are also very small (maximum five people), which means you get a lot of personalized attention and support in improving your practice. I’ve taken mat and reformer classes so far, and they also offer chair Pilates, which I plan to try. It’s refreshing to find a studio that truly specializes in Pilates rather than offering it as just another class at a gym. I’d definitely recommend trying it if you’re interested in developing strong Pilates technique.”Read moreShow less

“I am absolutely in love with this studio. The owner and all the instructors are such lovely people who are not only knowledgeable, but also kind, encouraging, and non-judgemental; they have created such an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for anyone wishing to explore pilates. I love that classes are small, with personalized attention and adjustments offered. I highly recommend this studio to anyone who is wanting to give Pilates a try!”Read moreShow less

“This review is long overdue but mostly because I can't help but rave about this studio. I've attended classes for about 1.5 years & have had the pleasure of attending classes with most instructors. No two instructors are fully alike, even for the same class (e.g. open level, tower, etc.) & the varying teaching styles means there's a teacher/class combo to suit whatever mood you're in. Class sizes are small which means instructors are able to cater to the current group's needs without anyone feeling left out or behind. Everyone is welcoming & it's a very safe, non-judgmental space for people with different ranges of motion & mobility.”Read moreShow less

“Trainor is my favourite pilates studio. The space is beautiful, clean and well laid out. More important, the instructors are amazing! I have gained so much from each of their wonderful classes. I’ve tried many different studios in Vancouver and there is nowhere I few more at home. No matter what health or mobility challenges a client presents the instructors have found a way to adapt. 100% recommend!”Read moreShow less

“Clearly this studio needs a refresher on their discrimination training. Writing this review on behalf of my mother who stopped by a few days ago. She’s been an avid reformer goer for majority of her life, and recently moved to the area. She found this studio and I suggested she stop in to ask some questions in person as she’s not terribly tech savvy. She went during business hours, and was ignored when she approached the door. It was locked (assuming for safety purposes) but she knocked and tried to get the attention of the women inside, but she instead she was met with stares and completely ignored, left out in the cold. She even called while standing at the front door and STILL was ignored. What absolutely abhorrent behaviour, and after some time she gave up and came home thoroughly embarrassed. I would recommend updating your door decal to something more reflective of how you treat minorities who approach your studio. Disappointed is an understatement. Edit to respond; the photo was taken a day prior while the business was closed, not the day the incident happened. Sad to see they can’t take responsibility for their actions or at least offer an explanation and instead attack anyone who dares to leave a bad review. Absolutely classless response.”Read moreShow less

“Now I’ve tried Pilates studios before but THIS is an incredible n proper Pilates studio. The instructors are truly experts at Pilates and teaching. I’m talking highest level Stott, taught in New York, completed kin or physio training type of instructors. VanCity is lucky to have this place. I had the pleasure of training under Kat (owner), Caitlyn, and Niloo. All of them are keen observers of their students, offering progressions to dial the challenge up or down, and precise cues for adjusting the body for better alignment, with personalized attention and kind demeanours. It didn’t matter if you were a beginner or experienced mover, or if you’d had injuries, there was something for every student I saw them teach. I recommend trying every instructor. After every class I left feeling more stable, coordinated and relieved in my body no matter how I challenged myself that day. Some studios will look pretty but leave your nervous system over-stressed and use the reformer like a glorified gym machine. Trainor left me challenged but calm, I found it complementing and improving performance in my other sports. The space and equipment are all top too. Trainor invested in towers with their reformers, and has a full Cadillac for privates. That opens up way more exercises and movement options. I got to try the Cadillac with Caitlyn when I ended up being the only student one day and it illuminated so many strengths and weaknesses in my body. It also has chair reformers, and every bolster and ball you’ll ever need. Of course the place is spotless, serene and intimate. The place is also central. Like…I could go on. But ya 5/5 on everything, a MUST try.”Read moreShow less

“I’ve taught Pilates for more than a decade and trained at studios all over the world, and Kat and Trainor Movement Co, are up there with the best. Great teachers, great vibes, great location.”
