“Toyota is one of, if not the largest and most highly regarded auto manufacturers to date. I have been a loyal supporter of Toyota since the late 80's. I am very disappointed in the way Toyota is handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Auto manufacturing is not an essential service nor is it an essential supply chain in the time of a pandemic. TMMC employs 8000 people and all the countless people in the companies associated with TMMC. These associated companies are waiting on Toyota to announce closure of their plant to help protect their employees and their families and will follow suit. This is unbelievable when they said and I quote, " If there are parts and bodies, we will remain open". Does Toyota not care for the health and safety of their employees that have helped them reach such greatness? By not taking the lead by closing their doors to help keep people and their families safe. They are basically saying they do not care! With gatherings of 50 or more people being forbidden by the government, and TMMC employing 8000 or more people, does TMMC not see this as a potential risk? This decision by Toyota is just plain despicable! I personally will never support Toyota again due to the way they have handled this situation!!! Toyota, be the company people see you as and do the right thing!!! Do your part and protect the people who have gotten you where you are today!”Read moreShow less
