“Oh, come on, Toronto! A 3.6 star rating? The UHN was recently rated as the 2nd best hospital in the world. I have attended the HIV clinic here for 30 years and it is excellent. I was admitted for a resperatory illness in 2012 and my care from nurses doctors and all others was excellent. We are lucky to have a hospital this great in Toronto, second only to the very famous Mayo Clinic Hospital. Don' let Doug Ford undermine the quality of healthcare in Ontario with privatization!”Read moreShow less

“Today my treatment journey at this wonderful hospital and its respected staff has come to an end. I thank all the nurses and doctors who stayed up late so I could recover and worked hard so I could sleep peacefully. Thank you so much! You are a fantastic medical team. “The wait times posted online are incredibly misleading. Initially went in thinking it would be a 2 hour wait and ended up staying 12+ hours. Half of this time was also essentially meaningless as I believe the ER doctor fully just clocked out and left, disappearing for 4+ hours at a time. Nurses also weren’t willing to transfer any of the records already taken so if I left all the time spent would wasted. The world ranking is really meaningless unless you’re going to see a specialist, avoid this ER if at all possible”Read moreShow less

“I was traveling for work and had an incident. So I had to go to the emergency. I found all the staff very knowledgable, very calm and welcoming. I was in and at within 3h. Since I was comibg from another orovince it costed nothing as it us covered by my general insurance. Great staff and hospital.”Read moreShow less

“I went for a brain MRI today and I was very pleased with the care and friendliness of the staff. I knew that it would be a good experience. Eleven years ago my (late) husband had a kidney transplant and triple bypass at your Hospital and he got the best of care. Everyone explained everything very well and put our minds at ease.”Read moreShow less

“Went to the ER because I had a fish bone stuck at the back of my throat - the whole experience from reception, to the intake nurses, radiology and finally being seen by the ENT specialist was made pleasant. The team here was very warm and made me feel comfortable. Special mention to Dr. Xiao for her careful determination in freeing the bone stuck in my tonsil! She was very reassuring and informative. I'm incredibly grateful to all of you 🙏”Read moreShow less

“I am incredibly grateful for the care I received. I had emergency surgery and the team truly saved my life. Every single staff member I encountered was kind, compassionate, and professional during such a frightening experience. I first went to Mount Sinai Hospital with serious issues, and the staff there were wonderful and took my situation seriously. I was then transferred to Toronto General Hospital for surgery, and the care I received there was outstanding. The doctors, nurses, and support staff were all amazing and made me feel safe and well cared for. What makes this experience even more meaningful is that I had originally gone to another hospital where my concerns were unfortunately ignored. The difference in care here was incredible. Thank you to everyone at Mount Sinai and Toronto General Hospital who helped me. I will always be thankful for the care that truly made a life-saving difference.”Read moreShow less

“went in with a respiratory issue was having trouble breathing was made to wait over 4 and a half hours and didn’t even see a doctor. was there until 3am this morning. i asked when the doctor would come and was told “i don’t know he’s the only doctor here”. all this money we pay in taxes we work our lives away get taxed by this joke of a government but god forbid i want to see a doctor. god forbid i want to access any service that my taxes pay for. this country is a joke and this health care system is an even bigger joke. was told to just go see my family doctor (who quit and i cannot find a new one because nobody is accepting patients) or go to a walk in clinic to get a referral that will take another 3 months. honestly would rather just suffer at home instead of waiting in some hospital just to get nothing. #1 hospital in canada? that is a scary thought. you’re telling me every hospital is worse than this? my mind is absolutely blown. go if you have no choice but good luck. you’ll end up funding big pharma with whatever useless over the counter nonsense they end up recommending. unbelievable. this experience alone has made me want to pack my stuff and move to a different country entirely. thankful that i am in good health otherwise, because the less you have to deal with this awful system the better.”Read moreShow less
