“I went in to meet Dr Perel-Panar after reading Breathe by James Nestor. His book dove deeply into the development of something called the Homeoblock by Theodore Belfor, and Dr Perel-Panar was indicated as able to assess whether or not this strange oral appliance would be able to help me better address a recent sleep apnea diagnosis. While I was fortunate enough to be able to acquire a CPAP machine, I found the regular use of the machine highly obtrusive after the first few months of it helping balance the breathing issues brought on by sleep apnea. Over the course of the next 2+ years of using the Homeoblock device and getting to know Dr Perel-Panar, not only is she knowledgable about the physiological underpinnings of sleep apnea, but she also takes great care to better understand the broader physical context that underpins this and related conditions. She has also been generous in her sharing of information about treatment options for this and related challenges, for which I am truly grateful. Having now progressed to the point of being able to say the sleep apnea is “in remission,” I am pleased that she has remained a step ahead and been able to provide guidance and support for a maintenance device that will arguably keep the condition from developing again further. The Panthera is an easy device to sleep with and maintain, and has helped me return to regular sound, deep sleep—with no more CPAP device required.”

“Amazing staff and Dr. Parel-Panal who I have the pleasure of being treated by is forward thinking, detailed, patient, understanding and comforting plus incredibly smart. Started treatment for my lock jaw caused by stage 4 osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease which this clinic was finally able to diagnose. Excited and hopeful for my future for the first time in years. Always available to ask questions for as well. Thank you to everyone who works here. Also my insurance was able to cover some of the treatment and they were able to bill directly which is always great. They also figured out all costs with telling me how much my insurance would cover just from my initial email contacting them. Above and beyond. I live in Abbotsford and they are in Vancouver but so worth the trip x million! Thank you TMJ and sleep Centre!!!!!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Vancouver TMJ and Sleep Therapy and Dr. Perel-Panar. From the moment I walked in, the whole team was just so kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. I always felt comfortable and looked after, and it never felt rushed or clinical in a cold way—they really take the time to listen and explain everything clearly. Under the care of Dr. Perel-Panar, everything has completely changed for me. I was dealing with TMJ pain for so long and honestly didn’t think I’d ever get to a point where I wasn’t constantly thinking about it. But I improved without surgery, my pain is gone, and my jaw opening is back in a normal range. The biggest difference is just everyday life now—I don’t have that constant discomfort or anxiety around what I can or can’t eat anymore. I’m so grateful for the care, the results, and how supported I felt throughout the whole process.”

“Dr. Perel-Panar is highly personable and brilliant. I feel safe in her care and appreciate how thorough, creative, and gifted she is at what she does. Dr. Perel-Panar is detail oriented and considers how overall health and bodily systems interact in relevant ways with the issues I came in about. I am a neurodivergent patient with hypermobility related issues and it is really refreshing to find a specialist that understands the hypermobility aspect and provides neuroaffirming care. She is the first specialist to go beyond "bandaid" treatments and actually address the root causes of my jaw pain. I left my appointment feeling hopeful about this issue for the first time in years. The staff are all very friendly and the office is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. I can't recommend highly enough.”

“My daughter and I are both patients at the clinic. My daughter, after years of jaw pain which included icing her jaw several times a day, finally found relief after treatment. After her successful treatment, I went in to get evaluated for tinnitus and neck/jaw pain. I followed the treatment plan as prescribed which was about 4 months. Following treatment, my jaw and neck pain are resolved and the tinnitus I experienced was greatly reduced. There is no longer a buzz saw sound in my ear - just a faint humming which I consider a success. From the very first appointment, I was impressed by the amount of time Dr. Perel-Panar spent with me to evaluate the problem. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her work. She is a good listener, and always takes the time to fully answer questions and explain the process. The staff at the clinic are very professional, and are always a pleasure to see at appointments.”
