Do not go to a place where they extort you for money. I recently had an appointment here and called to get it on an earlier date but after i chose the earlier date they tried to charge me for both the days for the "initial appointment". My advice to you is to ensure that you don't go here and if you do . Do not keep your card on their file because they'll charge it whenever they feel like without notifying you .

All of the reviews on here are bang on - and I'll put another 5 star down as well. I've had chronic hand pain for 8 years, and did the whole rounds of different doctors and physiotherapists ... neurologists, surgeons, rheumatologists. I had MRI's done (which did help nail down a bit of the cause), x-rays, nerve conduction testing. No one could ever help me. Kate Young helped me. I had (and am still working through) a really weird case of pain caused by tendon issues and cysts seemingly everywhere in my hand. Previous physiotherapists gave me a small number of exercises that honestly I could have found online - and I never had a great degree of luck with them. After moving to Vancouver, I did my research on who was the best hand therapist out there - and if you're reading this review you may also be asking yourself the same question. So why is Kate Young the best? 1) She's nice and fun to work with. For example, throughout my time with her we would always measure the range of motion on my wrists. She kept track of where I started, we could talk about how my right wrist had 65° of motion, where the month before it was only 62°, and she was genuinely just as excited as me to see the progress. 2) She never runs out of ideas. Like I mentioned before previous physiotherapists just gave me pretty basic exercises. Kate just has a million ideas in her mind, and is super open to figuring out what works for you specifically. Personally, I like to sit down to do exercises, prefer to be able to do them at work, and want the barrier of doing them to be minimal. Every time I'd come she would give me more exercises and I'd come back and tell her if I liked them, or if not she would change them around to suit my lifestyle better. My personal favorites are the dart throwing motion, theraband, and joint glide exercises. 3) Custom made wrist splints are a game changer - off the shelf ones are terrible, and while I was lucky and had insurance that covered mine they would have been well worth the money. Once again, I would get one, take it home and wear it and then come back with ideas like "I want it shorter here", or "this is a bit tight here" and she would just adjust them as needed. 4) There's a great team at the Vancouver Hand Clinic! At one point I wanted to try some IMS, which Kate wasn't certified for at the time, she helped me set up an appointment with Ashley Plough who was able to help me explore those options and contributed a few key ideas to my exercises as well. All that to say this is the best place to go for hand related pain, if I could rate it higher than a 5 I would, and thank you to Kate and the team for changing my life.

I suffered a finger injury during BJJ and had a great experience with Stephanie Chung. She was extremely kind, empathetic, and thorough with her assessment and treatment plan. She was spot on with her diagnosis and took the time to explain everything in an easy to understand way. While unfortunately my partner's insurance plan did not cover OT, I was ok paying out of pocket and I was glad I did. While not cheap, my session with Stephanie was worth every penny! Fingers crossed I don't injure my hand again, but if I do I know who I'm going to see!

Kate (physiotherapist) and Stephanie (occupational therapist) were instrumental in my successful rehab following CMC joint arthroplasty with an abductor pollicis longus tendon graft. Kate prepared me pre-surgery with targeted exercises, and Stephanie gave me a clear week-by-week guide of what to expect, which really helped manage my expectations, enhance patience, and reduce frustration to a minimum. She also made a very comfortable splint, adjusting it as needed. Post-surgery physio with Kate was excellent -professional, knowledgeable, caring, and fun. Thanks to them, I returned to my normal sports activities a couple of weeks earlier than my surgeon had anticipated. Highly recommend Kate and Stephanie. All the best!

The attention received in the clinic was always spot on, but their booking system is confusing and it's impossible to contact anyone (email or phone). I booked an appointment for the time that worked for me, and in my reason for booking I wrote exactly what kind of splints I had experience with and what I was looking for. I found out until the appointment that the therapist I booked couldn't do those splints for me and I had to go back a different day. I let it go because the appointment itself was still useful and informative. After ordering my splints, it's been impossible to get any contact with the therapist or clinic for any kind of follow up. TLDR Great physiotherapists and treatment options, but customer support could use improvement.

So very grateful I found Stephanie Chung. After being told my only options for hand injuries and thumb tendonitis was surgery or cortisol injections. Stephanie is dedicated to helping solve situations through more mindful explorations, asking in depth questions to see areas where to be more mindful of use of my hands, making a custom hand brace to support my hand and thumb, in conjunction with some gentle hand movements. I am thankful for my road to better healing in a more holistic way.

Having suffered with finger numbness, stiffness and hand pain for some 5 years, I visited VHC and Stephanie fabricated a set of custom hand splints for me. I was impressed with her friendly, caring, knowledgeable service. She thoroughly explained my carpel tunnel issues (even using computer generated diagrams to enhance my understanding), as well as fully detailing the process of making my splints. After wearing the splints for just two nights, I am already beginning to feel relief. I can’t recommend enough the service provided by Stephanie and will certainly continue see her for any issues related to my hands. Thank you!

I had a wonderful experience with Stephanie Chung, an exceptional occupational therapist. She conducted a thorough examination of my hand and took the time to really listen to my concerns with empathy and care. Stephanie made me feel completely at ease throughout the entire appointment with her warm, friendly demeanor. I left feeling well-supported and confident in her care. Highly recommend!
