“I am glad I came here probably about a couple years ago. Dr. Roxanne really did find the root cause of my fatigue. A previous family doctor brushed me off, said it is all in my head, etc. Regular iron test (ferritin?) was coming back normal. Dr. Roxanne insisted on doing other iron tests due to symptoms and on an additional test, my iron was low (but not "extremely" low, so family doctors probably would have dismissed it anyway). I started taking iron (and magnesium) on her recommendation and feel a million times better! The magnesium made a HUGE difference as well and I cannot believe family doctors do not usually take magnesium deficiency into account when patients present with symptoms. Anyway. “The Roots is full of brilliant professionals. I have been in constant treatment with Dr. Lauren, Dr. Mary and Angie. I can’t recommend Mary enough. She has been one of the most important parts of my journey into motherhood. More than just an acupuncturist, Mary became my mentor, my caretaker, and my guide. Every session with her felt like a pause from the chaos—she helped me find calm even in the gloomiest moments. I still remember how relaxed I felt after one of her sessions during labour. My midwife even said, “I think it’s the acupuncture—you really took it seriously.” That could’ve been the very thing that helped my baby move down so quickly after the epidural. That moment stuck with me. Even now, I visit Mary just to relax. Honestly, I went in yesterday just to sleep. Because what she does? It works. It’s not like regular sleep—it’s a state of deep calm. You’re not fully asleep, but you’re resting so deeply that your body and mind feel reset. During pregnancy, those acupuncture sessions with her were something else. I could feel exactly where my baby was, how she was positioned, how she was moving. I was that connected—because I was that relaxed. And after each session, I’d wake up refreshed. “I've been going to The Root other the last 3 years or so and I am so pleased with the level of commitment to your care both Dr. Lauren and Dr. Stephanie have. Following a holistic approach to healing has worked wonders for my health and I could not have done it without the support of the wonderful doctors at The Root. Both Dr. Lauren and Dr. Stephanie (Doctors I have personally worked with) showed the utmost care and support throughout my healing journey for several health issues. They also recommended me to a fantastic family doctor who I continue to work with. Words fall short of how amazing the team is at Root and I wouldn't doubt you'd be in great hands with whoever you work with. The clinic itself is also a calming and peaceful atmosphere. The only reason I've given a 4 star instead of 5 stars is because of the price and how that's changed over the years which does make it quite expensive. “I saw Dr. Amanda a few months ago when I was still pregnant. I was having some pain in my lower back and hips. She did some acupuncture on me as well as massage. I was nervous at first because I've never received acupuncture before. She did a excellent job of explaining what would happen and how it would benefit me. And it didn't hurt at all! The next day my back and hips were noticeably better. I've recommended her to lots of my family and friends, and definitely recommend her to anyone who is pregnant, she is great with all pregnancy related topics.”Read moreShow less

“In December 2015 I experienced a terrible reaction due to food intolerances I was unaware of. After receiving minimal support from my MD I decided I wanted to find an ND that could help me figure out what was going on with my body. My initial meeting with Dr Lauren was just over 2 hours! I was amazed and overwhelmed with the level of service and care that Dr Lauren provided. Her patience, attention to detail and ability to explain things in a straightforward manner reduced my anxieties and empowered me to make some important changes in my life. “As soon as you walk into this amazing experience you will feel calm and relaxed! The general vibe of The Root is perfectly quaint! Staff are amazing! I was offered a tea and right away and felt Cozy and relaxed. I did 30 mins on the Bio Mat, which I had never done and highly recommend you do, especially if you're a Feb baby like me as it has amethysts in it! AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
