Not impressed with pound makers at all. They refused my niece, who is in dire needs of treatment. And they refused it, because she had a court case pending, she has never been convicted of nothing. I thought they were there to help our people. But that's just not true. I will pursue this publicly. If I have to, it is not right

I’m so thankful I was guided to go into the poundmakers day program . Where my counsellor and all staff guided me into going to the inpatient treatment where i was treated with respect and compassion! The overall experience of treatment was life changing for me to start it off the culture based learning was something that changed my entire life. I was able to learn more of my culture in a safe environment with support all around! Now even after being done the treatment I was able to join a sober living house with poundmakers. They go above and beyond and generally care for your well being! You’re not just a client your part of the poundmakers family! The amount of time and effort the staff put in to make everything work for all people in the Center and there sober living homes is amazing! Guess I’m just here to say if you’re looking for somewhere to start your healing journey my recommendation is with poundmakers! Thank you poundmakers for changing my life for the better and always being there when times are hard! 🫶🏻

Poundmakers lodge is a great place to go learn and heal. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the elders are wonderful and the ceremonies are a wonderful experience. They really care about helping people get better, the tools they teach you can really help change your life. Be open to the process and give them a better chance than I did. You won’t regret it and it will change your life for the better. I’ve seen first hand in others how this program has helped them and changed their lives and it can for you too. I wouldn’t allow myself to be vulnerable and open up and that’s on me, do better than I did and you’ll be more than impressed with the results. 6 weeks isn’t long at all and they will help you get into sober living after your treatment is done. They help with many other things as well, do what I didn't and practice mindfulness and lead with your heart not your mind. Thank you poundmakers for all the people you’ve helped and the many more you will help. Keep doing what you’re doing

I'm writing this review to shed light on the treatment of patients who had to quit or where forced to leave. It's not about the staff !!!!! Pound Makers is there to help heal people who are struggling in life and should be supported with kindness and understanding. It broke my heart to read that Pound maker discriminated against a disabled Trans 💔 I hope you read reviews and hire people who actually CARE

2.5 stars , 50% of the staff were very kind and helpful and the other half were weird and loved to shame the residents, if shaming was helpful then addicts wouldnt need rehab. Still grateful for everything I learned there and happy to be 1.5 years sober ( i didnt stay sober after poundmakers but i did after going to Panoka treatment center ). 🙏 the cultural aspect was incredible and the on site detox program before starting treatment saved my life.

Six months ago, I went back to Pound Makers Lodge with somewhat being sceptical based on my negative experience the last time I was there. Mind you, that was nearly three decades ago. Little did I know as to how much their program had changed under new and healthy management. The staff are amazing and super supportive. I'm beyond grateful for all of them. Each of them have shown their own unique strentghs and sharing their wisdom to keep myself in line maintaining my new recovery journey. I really admire Conrad's voice for 2 Spirited people. I get overwhelmed when he shares his knowledge of our culture. After the fire incident I took their offer to move to the Rainbow Healing Lodge, which is the first 2 Spirit sober living house in Canada. I couldn't say thank you enough for what they've done for me. It's indiscribable. I've now moved onto my next phase of my journey moving into a new place. The staff have reminded me that I can continue to participate in their program activities and that I have a place or home to go back to if I want to. Kudos to all the staff. You guys rock. Keep up the amazing eye opening work you do for people like myself. Îshnîyēs

Almost a year ago, I walked through the doors of Poundmakers broken, lost, and unsure if I could ever find my way back to a healthy, sober life. On September 28 I will be celebrating a full year clean- and I owe so much of that to the support, guidance, and care I received here. The staff are not just professionals- they genuinely care. They took the time to understand story, rebuild my self worth, and gave me the tools that actually work in the real world. From group therapy to one-on-one sessions, every step was handled with compassion and honesty. What stands out the most is that the support didn’t end after completing the 42day program. I was transitioned to Iskwew Healing Lodge. Now as I take the next step into Cardinal recovery home, they continue to walk beside me. That kind of ongoing care has made all the difference. If you’re struggling and looking for a place that truly invests in your recovery, I can’t recommend Poundmakers enough. They helped save my life- and now, they’re helping me rebuild a new one.

Hey my name is Doug and I completed my program at poundmakers on January 15th. And I will say I. Am grateful for this place. Reading reviews I see there are a bunch of negative ones. But I can guarantee the bad reviews are from people that did not take the prosses seriously. Pondmakers is there to help but it is up to you to put in the work. And the councilors know if you are serious or not. People say they didn't get enough one on one time with the counselor, bit once again it is because they didn't apply themselves. I thought rhe same thing at first but the more effort I put in, the more effort they put in. I met alot of great people there, that I even keep in touch with today, and we all a great support system for each other, and I am proud to call them my anonymous family. Brad has built and leads a fantastic team at poundmakers. The pharmacy staff are wonderful and helpful. 😉 and I am bad with names but Wesley and Amy I think her name was Jess are awesome councilors. They allways were willing to talk and uplift my spirit. The front desk staff I will never forget saphir may look like a hard ass, but I considerd him a big brother. And if you happen to read this Saphir, I appreciate you bro. Amber, brook and the pale blonde native lady lol (sorry I know your name starts with a J) they are beautiful and allways up for a chat and laugh. And then there is Guyd his name really suits him. He allways has time for you and is a extremely wise man, and has good advice. And sorry to my other friends at the front desk I would give yall a shout out if your names were easier to reamber. But I still love yall to. Richard and the cooking staff prepare amazing healthy meals for you everyday and they are delicious. I loved going for meal time especially breakfast. Clipboard Mike or Matt were allways there to great me with a welcoming good morning. And I can't forget Connie. She may have been the leaning staff but she was more lime a big/ little sister. Allways stopping to have a good heart felt chat. She is literally a little angel 😇. The weekly sweats and monthly night lodges were truly an amazing experience. They opened up parts of my heart and mind that we're shut off for so long. THANKYOU CLIFFORD for taking the time to teach and heal us. God bless you and I still pray your wife stays strong. Don't get me wrong I had my ups and downs in this place and even came close to getting kicked out for acting a fool. But I owned up to my mistakes and Amanda made a deal with me to give me another chance and I thank you for that Amanda and Lil curly haired lady. You guys made my recovery possible. I highly recommend this place to anybody who is serious about finding the better things in life and getting free of addiction. God bless the entire team and thankyou Brad for bringing them all together ❤️ 🙏

As a successful client completing treatment at poundmaker’s lodge and current client at one of their recovery homes I am giving my honest review of both the treatment centre and the Recovery home. I completed the 42 day treatment program in May 2024 and while I was there I was always treated with respect and fairness. Staff was always willing to listen and give supportive input and willing to talk about their own experiences. I found these conversations with staff just as important as any counselling sessions and other programming during my stay. The counsellors are knowledgeable, with educational based lectures and experience in addictions of their own. The food is great, I didn’t have a bad meal until I left and had to cook for myself. If you had any ailment or questions the pharmacy and Nurses were always able to answer questions and prescribe medication. The only issue I had was having to read/listen to the rules every week. While the rules are important the topic of rules can overshadow the real reason why clients are attending treatment. Regarding my experiences while at the Cardinal house recover home I came directly after completing treatment and have found it to be extremely helpful with maintaining my sobriety post treatment. The houses are all well maintained, furnished with cable and wifi. Rent is manageable even if on social assistance. Clients are encouraged to find work and supports are given to clients to obtain employment. House hold supplies are supplied by poundmaker’s lodge and on occasion clients receive food as well. - every house received a Turkey with everything else you need so we could have a Christmas dinner. Each house has the support of the lodge and have weekly house meetings with a recovery couch to help communication within the house(s) go over anything that may be happening in their recovery etc. I hope that this review is helpful with anyone who is trying to find treatment for themselves, family or friends. Lastly I just want to add that just going to treatment alone will treat your addiction, it falls on the person themselves for wanting change and willingness to make the changes. All the best, -Matt

Only great thing about this place is the food! Other than that they don’t really care about your sobriety nor your mental health.. stayed 4 weeks and left.. You don’t have much time to talk to your councillor nor do they show much interest in you.. I’m native and it’s the native staff that are un-professional. The staff are there to watch you and find any excuse to kick you out.. others have different experiences but this was mine. My first time attending a rehab and thought this would help unfortunately it did not!
