Within only a couple of sessions, we were able to rework deep core patterns to get me on a solid path to being able to be more active. From there, I was able to progress to strengthening workouts, with support of a trainer/kinesiologist. At TCP, I found excellent and caring support to get past blocks I have had for years.

I was referred to the Cheerful Pelvis from my doctor at Westcoast Women's Clinic due to issues I was having with recurrent infections and my sessions with Lily at Cheerful Pelvis was really great. She has a very calm and understanding attitude, and I found her quite relatable. She helped me find the mind-body connection with my pelvic floor muscles, as well as how to find ways through breathing and other means to reduce my "triggers". Previous to our sessions I only knew of pelvic floor therapy for post- pregnancy separation of abdominal muscles and 'strengthening' my muscles, however, these sessions also taught me the value of learning how to consciously relax muscles as well. The combination of my physio sessions with Lily, along with support from my provider at Westcoast Women's really helped me to fix ongoing issues I had been having for over 7 years. I highly recommend.

Had an initial assessment today with Mika and received excellent care. She was patient, present, gentle and I feel great about moving forward with the process. Obviously parts of this type of therapy can be awkward and uncomfortable and I was very nervous about it but I felt extremely safe, reassured and Mika talked me through everything she was doing which helped me feel a lot more comfortable. The office was also gorgeous, clean and a comforting space which helped ease my nerves some. I felt very well cared for.

Victoria was so helpful. With a warm and thoughtful approach she figured out what I needed in one visit! Strongly recommend the cheerful pelvis!

I had a wonderful experience with Victoria for pelvic floor physiotherapy. She was incredibly friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable throughout every appointment. She provided very clear and detailed explanations about how to perform each exercise and helped me gain a much better understanding of my pelvic floor. I really appreciated that she took the time to explain the reasoning behind the treatment rather than just giving me exercises to do. One of the most valuable parts of our sessions was preparing for labour. She demonstrated different birthing positions and taught both my husband and me how he could support me during labour. We found this extremely helpful and it gave us so much more confidence going into the birth. I highly recommend Victoria to anyone looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable pelvic floor physiotherapist, especially if you're preparing for pregnancy and childbirth.

I recently went for my first appointment and was a little nervous, but the whole experience was fantastic. The location is very accessible and easy to get to. I had my session with Alex, and she was amazing. She explained everything with so much patience and took the time to answer all 2,000 of my questions! She made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the appointment. I'm really happy with my experience and will definitely continue attending my sessions regularly. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend seeing Lily, a physiotherapist (with speciality in pelvic floor) at Cheerful Pelvis. She took me through my whole pregnancy and postpartum journey, with attention to individualized goals. She does lots of education along each step of the way, including pre-birth prep. EDIT: I also very highly recommend Sam's pre and postnatal classes (also a pelvic floor physiotherapist). She is a skilled instructor, able to focus on individuals' needs while having the benefits of socialization in a small group class. Sam kept me more active towards the end of pregnancy, and helped facilitate a much stronger recovery post-partum. It's such a warm and welcoming space for all levels of fitness (and opportunities for both modifications and progressions)!

I recommend anyone seeking trauma-informed care ask providers to describe what their approach entails to ensure it meets their needs. I was assured a high standard of trauma-informed care, but my expectations were not met. Even though we only talked and the provider reaffirmed she would respect the limits I had specified, I left the intake session feeling vaguely unsettled, embarrassed, and confused. There were many ways the provider could have proactively made the intake session trauma-informed but didn't. The other downside was that I paid $230 to discuss my intake form for 55 minutes, which doesn't seem like great value, especially since I won't be going back. Aside from that, the clinic is very nice and the provider seemed quite competent in diagnostics and prescribing exercises. The admins were also very pleasant and on their game.

I came here as a last resort after trying so many different things to try and resolve my symptoms. From the first session with Lilly, my symptoms already got 80% better, and in a really short amount of time I was able to make a lot of progress and get my symptoms back on track. I only wish I found this clinic sooner, as I'd been dealing with this issue for several years, and I was amazed at how fast I was able to fix things. Thanks, Lily.

i went on a referral from my gp due to ongoing hip/back pain and a remarkable inability to relax. three things: 1) i didn’t know pelvic floor therapists existed 2) the idea of an internal exam stressed me out 3) talking about any kind of pelvic health makes me nervous because i am colonially english and we don’t talk about that so i was expecting to be deeply uncomfortable. to my absolute astonishment, i was immediately comfortable, not only with Devon but with the whole office in general. i walked in to a peaceful space with very comfortable chairs. Camille the front desk employee is warm and friendly. you take your shoes off at the door and then you’re lead into a private room. Devon (the pelvic floor physio) was welcoming and very easy to talk to. i, despite my heritage, was easily able to talk about my ongoing and intimate issues, and not once did i feel embarrassed. Devon walked me through everything, explaining every touch and asking for consent the entire time. i left feeling very well taken care of, and also like i learned a lot! any kind of medical visit has its stresses, but this office went out of their way to make this the most painless and comfortable experience possible. simply tremendous.
