“I can recommend Chris Gouveia without any reservations. Within the first few sessions I realized I’d rarely met someone as suited to their line of work as Chris. His mastery of his field, his genuine pleasure in working with people, and his overall energy and enthusiasm make for a positive therapeutic experience. Chris worked with me through three significant issues that presented in an overlapping sequence. It was a really long haul — eight months — and there were setbacks: re-injury on a couple of occasions, but more often my own struggle with discouragement. Through it all, good weeks and bad weeks, Chris’s energy, optimism and understanding kept me on an even keel.”

“I can't say enough good things about Dr. Chris Gouveia and the practice at The Athlete's Village. I came to him with a lower back injury from the gym and he was able to diagnose the issue and set me up with a treatment plan right away. He was incredibly thoughtful in his approach to my recovery and helped get me back into the gym and back on my bike with the confidence I needed. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable and his pedigree working with top-level athletes, in various sports, shines through in his practice. It was very clear to me that he is passionate about what he does and that he really cares about his patients. Lastly, one thing that really set Chris apart as a practitioner was how he went out of his way to make sure I felt supported between sessions. He made himself available for my questions along my recovery journey and I found this to be remarkably valuable, especially as I got back to the sports / activities that I love. Can't recommend The Athletes Village enough.”

“Chris is an amazing practitioner. He is friendly, approachable, and positive, which is the best way to start to deal with an injury. He takes the time to ask a ton of questions as well as answer all of mine and I always leave appointments knowing what I need to do at the gym during recovery and my own rehab exercises and what our plan is moving forward. I have seen a huge improvement from my injuries and I am now on the mend with a plan. He integrated my rehab into my own workouts and I have an increased awareness surrounding triggers and how I can move in a healthy way and build strength around my areas of weakness. “Chris was fantastic to work with. He was able to thoroughly explain why my pain had occurred, and where it was coming from. He carefully went through the home exercises and made sure that I did them properly before sending me home, which not every rehab person will do. He'll send you an email after with videos on how to do it if you've forgotten. He's knowledgeable, relaxed, positive, and professional. Would recommend to family and friends. Will definitely return to see him if I have any issues in the future!”
