Dakota was awesome! I messaged their Instagram to book in for Shambhala a few days before I left. Brought in my reference pic and she totally killed it!! It’s sooo cute. This is my first time getting GelX and omf I love them!! So light and sturdy. Great experience and clean open studio. All the artists are really talented and do really clean work.

We have been to see Fin twice for special occasions. The first Time we did gel X and the second we did acrylic extensions with detailed nail art. Each time Fin did a beautiful job bringing my daughter’s vision to life. Thank you, Fin for making Lily’s grad nail dreams come true! Also, the space is beautiful and has great air filtration. Thank you Fin!

I get my nails done regularly by Camy at Sunday Nails and I’m absolutely obsessed with them every time. My designs always end up looking better than my inspo photos. If you want to be impressed with your nail artistry, she’s the way to go! She’s also very knowledgeable, and always makes sure my nails are in good health. I can’t recommend her enough!! She’s the best!! I promise you won’t be disappointed booking an appointment with Camy. 🫶🏼

***EDITING post to respond to reply as google wont let me respond: Firstly, the shop I went to afterward for this removal performed a soak-off method. The damage was from the way the gel was lifting as it was being soaked in acetone. The photo posted shows the stress points through the extend gel that were still present before the soak. For context, the removal done by the new nail tech was performed slowly and methodically, taking over an hour due to the condition of my nail plates. At no point during these services did I experience any discomfort, which contrasts with my experience in Fin's chair. The burning I felt from the rotary file when getting a set from Fin did not occur with my new nail tech Secondly-visually, the pink french set shows consistent regrowth across all fingers. Saying the grow-out is too low is non-sensical. "Wish you'd given us the opportunity to properly remove and assist with a fresh set" does not address the actual concerns raised: over-filing, heavy rotary file pressure, or reused files. If there had been a concern about prior damage, a health focused salon would document it, acknowledge it verbally and note it in my client record. Completing the removal and a fresh set without mentioning any damage does not align with the narrative that is now being presented. Regarding the credential claims: Work Safe BC's mandate is workplace health and safety regulation in BC. They set the standards for employers and workers and provide safety resources. They do not certify individual beauty professionals or designate official career trainers in cosmetology. Similarly, "federal recognition" in Canada generally refers to Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs), trade certification bodies, or accredited colleges. If an institution holds that type of recognition, it is publicly verifiable and associated with a registration number. Additionally, which federal department or accreditation body recognizes your institution, and what is the applicable registration or certificate number? It’s one thing to have an ugly set of nails/ which I admit I should have said something at the time, but it already felt like I was getting rushed so I felt uncomfortable to speak up. But I didn’t realize the damage that was done to them until my new nail tech removed your set. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but deflecting and pointing the blame at unnamed 3rd parties without evidence is not the professional response I would have expected from a shop that advertises their high standards.*** ****************************************************************** I normally do not post reviews and debated back and forth on this but hoping this may help save someone else’s nails… I went to the senior artist and owner, Fin. I wanted a quality set so that’s why I booked with her. This a grown out Gel X set applied by her. A different nail tech salon who removed them was extremely concerned and careful because there was so much damage previously done to them (See photos). I can’t say for sure if Fin was solely responsible for the damage, but she was very heavy with her rotary file and I could feel it digging into my nails. She did not take any precautions or mention any sort of issues with my nails prior the application. Aside from the damage, the shape was super weird/off. The French tip lines were also painted on crooked, and the barbed wire hearts I asked her to draw on were microscopic and seemed rushed/half assed. She also used a nail file on me that looked previously used. I expected better from a shop like this- especially the senior artist/owner. Very grateful I found a proper nail tech somewhere else that was gentle and very knowledgeable in explaining what was done to them. Proceed with caution..

I’ve been to this nail salon quite a few times, and they always do amazing designs. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and really takes their time to pay attention to every little detail. They make sure the design turns out exactly how you want it— highly recommend! 😊

We had Kate and Nat as our nail artists and holy what an incredible experience. I brought my almost 9 year old with me. Nat made the experience absolutely amazing for her. She was beaming afterwards. So grateful to Kate for my amazing slug nails. Both are incredible nail techs 10/10 no complaints whatsoever!!!

I truly cannot say enough great things about Sunday Nails and Beauty! I had my first appointment in December 2025 and since then have become OBSESSED. I feel like this is the nail place I've been searching for in Victoria for years and I'm thrilled I finally found it. I originally saw an Instagram ad about the salon that made me book my first appointment and I had such a great experience that I'm becoming a regular customer and can't stop recommending Sunday to everyone who will listen. I've had two appointments with Ella who does INCREDIBLE work and is so attentive, kind, and caring. We became fast friends and it's so fun to spend the appointment chatting. Ella is a student and her work is flawless and professional. The first appointment I had with her she explained the differences between the types of nails and services they offer, which I appreciated because I'm pretty new to having regular nails! The studio space is gorgeous, bright, and welcoming. I love the location, right downtown on Government street. I also found the booking experience super easy, and I love how easy it is to book the nail art in tiers. Thank you Sunday Nails! I'm your biggest fan!
