“I had all three of my children with the support of this midwife team, and I honestly cannot thank them enough for everything they did for our family. Throughout every pregnancy and birth, they were always respectful, kind, supportive, and incredibly helpful. They made me feel heard, informed, and cared for every step of the way. Thanks to their guidance, professionalism, and calm support, all of my birth experiences felt positive, smooth, and beautiful. Looking back, I have only warm memories and gratitude. They created such a safe and empowering environment, and I will always appreciate the care they gave me and my children. Thank you for being such an important part of our family’s journey. “Strathcona Midwifery — the Dandelion team, made my entire pregnancy journey feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. They answered every question and eased every worry with so much patience and compassion. And during labour, Amy Braunstein and Ari were just incredible, reassuring and truly present. “I had my baby girl back in December 2025, and was lucky enough to be taken in by Strathcona Midwifery Collective ("SMC" ) right from the near beginning of my pregnancy. I'm impressed with the various midwife teams that are made to tailor to each mom that comes their way. My baby and I were matched with and were well cared for by the Team Plum midwives. SMC made sure I got to meet every single one my midwives at least once; that helped me build trust in whoever it may have been delivering my baby when the time came. Honourable mentions to the following midwives of mine: Kirsten (the midwife that delivered my baby and who I had the most visits with), Samara (long time doula turned midwife - she makes me want a doula for my next pregnancy), and Aimee (who was there for me as I was being admitted to the hospital). Everyone on the team were lovely - I can't praise everyone enough! One of the best protocols SMC has in place are the scheduled postpartum visits at the hospital, the clinic, and most importantly, at your own home! This was the most surprising part I did not know I needed until it happened. I can't praise this protocol enough; to have your midwives visit you in your own safe space while navigating the unknown territories of motherhood as a first time mom, is just top-tier care. I even got to meet more great midwives, Cello and Stephanie, who came in place of my midwives while they were busy doing God's work of welcoming more new lives to this world. The postpartum home visits were a real game changer. I can't thank the midwives enough for being there for me and helping me get started as a new mom. Midwives are truly heaven sent. SMC is nearly perfect based off my experience with them. There's just only been a few times where reception could have been more present, friendlier, and communicative. But other than that, SMC is fantastic! I highly recommend the midwives and the care they provide here! I hope to be in their care again for my next pregnancy and baby. “Five starts isn't enough to reflect the incredible care we received from the Plum team at Strathcona Midwifery - and especially from our birth midwife, Samara. We had such a wonderful experience. Every single midwife we encountered was kind, compassionate, and incredibly supportive. Throughout my pregnancy and in the lead-up to birth, I always felt well informed and cared for. The knowledge and professionalism of the entire team truly stood out. A very special thank you to Samara, who is truly exceptional. From the moment we met her, I had hoped she would be the one to deliver our baby, and we were so lucky that she happened to be on call when I went into labour. Her calm confidence, warmth, and support made for the smoothest labour and delivery. She put both me and my partner completely at ease, and I felt safe and secure with her throughout the entire birthing experience. I am especially grateful to Samara for giving me the courage and support I needed to have the birth I had wished for. Without her, I don’t think my birth would have unfolded in the way I had hoped.
