Steamworks: where the line moves slower than dial-up internet. Last night one employee at the door seemed more focused on ordering the other staff member to “type this” and “click that” into the computer while the lineup grew longer and longer outside. The funny part? Once inside, it really wasn’t even busy. Also heard a staff member say “can’t you read?” to an older man who seemed cognitively impaired, which honestly felt pretty gross. Then watched someone skip the line and walk in free because they knew the staff. A bit of a disaster lately. Vancouver’s nightlife doesn’t need to be perfect, but a little organization and basic kindness toward people would go a long way.

Bathhouse culture here is surprisingly very open and friendly. There was good amount of younger millenials, gen Z and tourists when I went at 4pm on a Saturday, so if your inexperienced, I recommend weekends. Had a great first time. The man with curly hair at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Steamworks is a more expensive brand but it provides everything you need. Cash only vending machines were same price as Shoppers products, pretty affordable. Amenities such as shower, sauna and darker areas were clean. Room rental is definitely worth it as it gives space to relax and debrief any thoughts while there are outlets to charge your phone in the standard rooms. Theres also a lot of luggage or bag rentals in Gastown if need to store your bag while visiting as the policy to bring items in is very limiting. Do your research online first and staff are great about answering questions.

Average facilities. Small hot tub, Ok wet and dry sauna. A very small maze and dark room. Incredibly uncomfortable experience - staff (fully clothed) were constantly barging into rooms, supervising patrons. Other staff were supervising doing “busy-work”. It was very intrusive and oppressive feeling. Also, the dark-skinned staff member with glasses is very rude. Other staff were friendly.

Customer service from the start was fantastic. The steam room and hot tub are nice and the sauna is big although on a busy night the dry sauna is useless because of the opening of the door so much. The set up is good and I had a great time. I went back 2 nights in a row

What is wrong with the majority of people that work here? It seems like they have a good diverse group of guys working there, but thats where all the positives stop. Seems like each guy has their own serious issue. The Brazilian guy at the checkout is always cussing as soon as guys walk in the door and keeps yelling "stop" as in dont come here cause otherwise he has to work. The asian guy with the long hair is always creeping on others and always flirting any opportunity he gets but sometimes misses the fact that he's working. The indian guy downstairs acts like hes in a marathon, walking so fast that he runs into others frequently due to his speed. The African canadian guy looks like he has never smiled or laughed in his entire life...very monotone and wont respond to a "hi" or "bye" rather just takes his hand out to grab your keys as youre exiting

I was charged for a card and a locker, tried to pay with apple pay and it didn’t go through, same with all my cards for some reason? Anyway, I went to the closest ATM I found after that. While doing that I checked the website and realized that I didn’t have to pay since it was a free locker for people 25 & under, which I had to mention to the receptionist since he acted as he didn’t know even though he had my ID on his hand twice. While getting my data on the system I asked about the student tariff that I saw on the price list, to what he interrupted me and told me to wait. After he was done with that, he was charging me for a regular user card, to what I replied asking again how does the student card worked and handling him my student ID. He was really rude and disrespectful blaming me for wasting his time when he is the one working there, is he not the one supposed to apply the discounts for the corresponding events and answering the customers questions? it was really annoying, but the place is not that bad, had some fun. Not that big of a place tho.

Greeted by friendly staff. The place was not busy on this Thursday night, or maybe i just arrived too late. I found it to be clean (acceptable standards). I found it strange their membership is not valid on other steamworks spa, despite the same brand and website. That was the answer i received. They have lockers (a bit old ones). Plenty rooms. The usual fun facilities on the basement that i kept loosing my bearings, a jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Unlike other saunas, these worked and regularly cleaned. Thank you guys. Worth trying it on a busy weekend, i guess. If out of town, like myself, remember the buses end just passed midnight to go back to Granville st. I would not recommend walking around the streets that surround this area, specially if alone. But i had some fun coming here. And a well relaxed time in the steam room.

The locker morning prices, according to their website are $12 weekdays and $15 on the weekends. When you get there, the morning locker price on the weekends is $17 instead of $15. Most of the employees will charge you $15, unless the old grumpy guy is there. He will charge you $17. Not sure why the price discrepancies and increases. Every single mornings the place is absolutely empty, yes, even on the weekends.

Such a cool place to grab drinks and some good food. They have a cool space inside and outside. We had great sangria and beers, onion rings, wings, pizza, sweet potato fries, and garlic parm fries. Would highly recommend while visiting Vancouver!
