“I was at Chesley hospital from 8-3. The first hour I was sent to walkerton for a ct scan and then back to Chesley. I have received all of my tests and scans in a timely manor. My doctor was a lady who was extremely thoughtful and thorough. The staff were so friendly. Even tho I spent the entire day here I am so grateful they took all the steps they did to find out what the problem was and to get me feeling better. Amazing team at Chesley!”Read moreShow less

“Apr 23, 2025. I suffered a heart attack. Age 73 and very active. Called 911 at 3:08 pm. Local ambulance arrived 3:17. Delivered to Chesley Emergency Hospital 3:32. Amazing staff of quick thinking, quick reacting personnel. Cardiac arrest at 3:48. They worked as a team and resuscitated me after 12 more minutes of CPR and AED about 4:00. Stabilized enough to be transferred by road ambulance to Hanover and then onto an ORNGE helicopter to St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. 2 stints installed in left anterior descending artery sometime that evening., Apr 23. Successfully discharged May 1st. No side effects other than sore ribs. No loss of memory. Thank you! Save your small town hospitals. I wouldn't be here without ours.”Read moreShow less

“I have been to the Chesley Hospital ER several times in the last year and was in the ward once. Every time was a great experience with the doctors and nurses.”

“Thank god for this hospital. I mean THANK. GOD. I have had a horrible, little known illness called cyclic vomiting syndrome since I was a teenager. Its a chronic condition that mainly involves me being in horrendous pain and throwing up every 15 mins or so for a period of anywhere from 24 hours to 5-6 days and unable to function at all. I moved from BC to Port Elgin a few years ago and STILL am waiting to get a family doctor, and getting care without one in this province when this condition flares up has been a nightmare to say the least. After several traumatizing experiences at Southampton and Owen Sound hospitals, I was recommended this hospital and it has made A LIFETIME of difference in getting care when I need it! I’ve been here about half a dozen times now (always for my CVS) and I am always seen right away, the doctors and nurses are comforting and make me feel as if they actually care that I’m in pain, and - most importantly - I’m not treated as if I’m just a drug-seeker!! I know how hard it is determining what to do with someone with my condition, and no amount of hyperbole can cover how absolutely beyond appreciative I am for the care and consideration I receive there. Even just down to the smallest things like providing warm blankets and turning off the lights if requested. For someone with a chronic pain condition, this place is a godsend and I continue to be eternally grateful for its existence, and I hope every single staff member there realizes what a difference they’ve made in my life.”Read moreShow less

“I just left there and had a TERRIBLE experience I was “treated” by the most miserable man I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting. Dr. Adam Gavsie is a TIRED and presumptuous man. He talked to me like I was an idiot - implied I wasn’t a tax payer and straight up implied I was there for pills!?!?!?I left there in tears. I feel disrespected and unless you’re DYING don’t go there because apparently this doctor has better things to do. WHEN DID WE STOP TREATING PEOPLE LIKE PEOPLE?!?!?”Read moreShow less
