“I booked a laser treatment appointment and then, while completing the intake forms on Sunday, realized the treatment seemed to come with a much bigger commitment than I had understood at the time of booking. The forms repeatedly emphasized that results would not be as effective without following a recommended skincare routine and referenced the guidance that would be provided during the appointment. I understand why skincare makes a difference here, but I was not prepared to commit to a broader regimen beyond the treatment itself. Because of that, I emailed on Sunday to cancel my appointment, which was scheduled for Wednesday at 6:50 p.m. That is more than 48 hours in advance. They later told me their 48-hour cancellation policy only applies to their business hours, not from when the customer actually sends the cancellation email. Even by that logic, Monday at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday at 6:50 p.m. is still 56 hours and 50 minutes. What was especially frustrating was that after I clearly asked to cancel, I received a reply from the CEO Leah, explaining I was not required to buy any additional products. But that missed the point. My concern was not whether I was technically forced to buy anything, it was that their own intake materials made it sound like the treatment might not be worthwhile without committing to the full aftercare approach. That was more than I wanted to take on at this time. I then received another appointment alert, after I had sent the email to cancel and followed up to confirm again that I still did not want to appointment, and they charged my card $150. I disputed the charge, but they refused to reverse it. My issue is not just the fee itself, but the style of commination with Leah was simply rude and demeaning. I cancelled well in advance, and if they believed my original cancellation email was somehow not enough, that should have been stated in their response before it was within their 48-hr cancelation window. Requiring extra confirmation to cancel, but not requiring any confirmation before processing a $150 charge, does not feel reasonable or customer-friendly. I would not book here again based on how this was handled.
