My mom stayed here for 90 days for a rehabilitation program after a broken back. There are no words that will describe the excellent care and compassion she received.

Most kind, caring staff.Clean ,and always someone to help you with assistance.Your Loved one is well taken care of. Best choice for living out the remaining years of one's life when they can't care for themselves.

My husband died last month at Shalom Village, having spent 7 months there. I cannot say enough about the care that he/we received. The staff were all so kind and professional and the end-of-life care was beyond anything we could have imagined. I am so grateful that he had his last months at SV.

My Mom lived in Shalom Village LTC for the past 7 months. Her experience was excellent. Clean facility. Lots of windows. Well designed. Great outdoor space. Staff are compassionate, kind and skilled. I found everyone very respectful. Recreation staff were awesome, and went out of their way to engage the residents. Nursing staff were very responsive and on top of things. PSW’s were good and worked hard. Connected well with residents and family members. The one thing I wished is that the meals had more variety. My Mom’s health began to deteriorate over the last 6 weeks, and she passed away last week. I was very grateful for the staff support, their exceptional end of life care, and their obvious connection to my Mom. Throughout her whole time at Shalom, staff had excellent communication with our family. I am beyond grateful to Shalom Village for giving my mom such a good quality of life during her time with you. I would highly recommend Shalom Village to anyone needing LTC.

I find most of staff is friendly with lots of exception. The temperature in the room is about 80 degrees . It might be good if you have a private room. Re.ally loud music till 11 at night. I do ..my best to keep a family better from this place. 3 days and I trying they put a transfer A couple of weeks later nothing got any better the food is terrible. They tried serving me double portions but it doesn't help the taste. Find quite a few rude nurses and your voice opinion.

My parents reside in the assisted care building and I am very pleased with the level of care that they receive. The PSWs and staff are kind, skilled, and provide a good balance between supportive care and independence. My parents appreciate the values of respect and kindness that are present at all levels of the organization. The Rabbi is an engaged spiritual leader who supports all members of the community, regardless of religion. Residents at Shalom are active and many activities are scheduled each week. They have excellent gym facilities, which my father (age 88) uses weekly. My mother enjoys the art club, gardening, and shopping trips. I am told the bus driver is fun and friendly. Chef Helena provides delicious meals and the staff dietician is responsive to resident concerns. The facility does a good job communicating important information to residents and family, which I appreciate.

Shalom Village has been a wonderful place for my father. He isn't as independent as he thinks, so their on-site PSW staff provide the care that he needs (medication, showering, etc.). This enables my father to live as independently as he can. All the staff there have been very supportive and attentive, and always let me know if there's anything he needs. Shalom also has an excellent gym for all residents to use, included in the cost. As well, for the apartment residents, they provide suppers only, which actually allows the residents to have more freedom during the day. Shalom has its own mini bus which takes residents on trips daily, to grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, and places of interest. My father often hops on this bus not knowing where its headed that day, because he just enjoys being with others and getting out.

Not a great experience! Very understaffed and nurses were barely around when a visit would place. Some nurses are nice, but when there is a problem they are not to be found . When questions are asked about why residents are complaining and why medical needs are not being taken care of, it was a lot of passing the buck and saying that they are understaffed, or they were off and have not seen the nurses to read the notes. People sit outside desperately hoping someone will talk to them in the hallways and no one seems to really matter. These people were probably doctors and lawyers before living here. Snacks given to the residents are limited to awful store bought cookies and juice most times. Residents often smell like urine and look disheveled. Heart breaking to see. More staff are required and more respect are needed for the residents. They matter too!!
