“I've been at this dentist office for almost 9 years now, and its completed its full "ship of theseus" transformation at this point. It used to be City Dental on Yonge, at one point there was a fire and they had to remodel, now its under complete new management and none of the staff I knew remained. This came as a complete surprise to me as how I learned about it was showing up for my appointment- suddenly it had a different name and I didn't recognize anyone. Regardless, I decided to give it a honest shot, and I have to say after two appointments i'm kind of disappointed. I think ProDental still has potential for certain people, but it's not for me anymore. The atmosphere has completely changed, I never thought I would have issue with a dentist's office "vibe" but here we are... its more like somebody's house than a dentists office, with dogs running around and lots of living room furniture. This is deliberate, and I think for medium and high fear patients is probably nice to feel more at home and less like you're getting your teeth drilled. I would say i'm pretty zero fear when it comes to a dentists office, so I sort of would prefer a place where everyone is more down to business and focused. The original City Dental had a good balance of friendly conversation while maintaining professionalism, and I enjoyed that they had tvs on the ceiling that you could look up at and watch whatever random stuff they had on while your teeth were getting worked on. I haven't run into any major problems with the dentistry itself since the management change, but I still prefer the original crew. The water pick bothers my ears less which is nice (maybe they turned it down a bit or maybe i'm losing my high-frequency hearing) but otherwise its about the same just a bit slower. I don't think about the inner workings of dentists offices too much, but I feel like at my past offices there has been a senior dentist that comes in and gives you a second opinion on your teeth- this no longer happens here. Don't know if that is a standard thing or not but it was reassuring and also felt better than just getting a cleaning and going "yup you're good, brush more often and see you next time". Speaking of which, they didn't even organize a follow up appointment for me when I went this last time, I just paid and left, so I might take that as a sign and see if I can find a new dental office near me. I had a lot to complain about but I also think that for specific people this dentist office could work for them. My entire life I have not seen a more laid back and relaxed dentist office than the new management at ProDental Yonge, so if you are high stress maybe that will help you calm down. It's just not what I need out of a dentist. I want a dentist office to be friendly, sometimes conversational, confident, and pleasant, but mainly I just want them to clean my teeth. I dont really need a dog licking my hand while i'm sitting in a dentists chair with music playing that is louder than the quiet hygenist's voice telling me to open my mouth. The first time I went only a month after it changed over it felt somewhat similar to the old office with some mild differences, now it feels like a complete departure and it's no longer for me.”

“I’m really disappointed with the administration side of my recent visit. First, I was not notified that the hygienist would not be available for my appointment. When I arrived, I was told that they had tried to contact me to cancel, but I did not receive any calls, voicemails, or emails. It was frustrating to take time out of my day only to find out once I got there. Secondly, at my next appointment, when I requested a receipt for my invoice, I was given one that was missing the provider’s registration number, which I need for reimbursement. I have followed up about this twice and still have not received a response. I do want to say that Dr. Ella is amazing — professional, kind, and excellent at what she does. My concerns are strictly with the administrative communication and follow-up, which I hope will improve.”

“I am very disappointed with my experience at this dental office due to a serious administrative error and the lack of accountability that followed. I was advised by the receptionist that my dental benefits covered the treatment, which turned out to be incorrect. I was required to pay approximately $1,300 out of pocket. When I brought this issue to Dr. Ella’s attention, she suggested that I contact my insurance company, stating that her office had reached out to them and they had misquoted my coverage to their receptionist. However, when I reached out to my insurer, they had no record of this. What was most frustrating was not just the error itself, but that no one at the office took responsibility or made any effort to resolve the mistake and follow up on my email. Given this experience, I would NOT recommend this dental practice.”

“First of, Dr Ella & her assistant(I'm not sure about the name & didn't want to use a wrong one)are amazing. I've been to a few dental clinics in the past, but, they are all about business, no care. However, Dr Ella took time to hear & address my concerns. She & her assistant is patient, polite, kind, professional, amazing at their job & love my home-made chai. Usually, I dread going to a dentist(for the obvious reasons), but, her gentle care & attitude makes me look forward to our appointments. Thank you to Brie(at the reception), she's friendly & helpful & last, but, not the least, the furry friend Putter, he is the icing on the cake. I would highly to highly-iest(if that's even a word) recommend visiting Pro-dental for your dental needs & get treated right. Thank you again for everything.”
